Really? Ok Now Seriously They Say GTA Has No DLCS? Now thats stupid what about 4's DLC.

'More Freedom In Missions' In GTA You had freedom too! I mean you could do it at your own leisure and I do not see the fuss about having to do missions to unlock places. More Challenging

Well The Article is very bad and I Just Wanted To see what you all think of it I Agree that Skyrim Has more side missions and exploration [

but Other than that I do not see it being better than gta.

The Article is pointless really and not many agree with it as you can see in the comments

No Offence to skyrim fans by the way smile.gif

I think the article is talking about the fact that fans can create their own content for Skyrim were as for GTA you can't.

I really like both, but I find that Skyrim has a tonne more replay value because you can play the game as many different types of characters and you can exercise different styles and approaches so you can enjoy a different experience from the last time you played it. As is the case with RPG's.

Once you've finished GTAIV, the next time you play it it's pretty much the same, although you may do some missions in a different order.

Lord, when will you people stop trying to categorize subjective opinions such as taste in video games... It's plain stupid. Sure, Skyrim has a gigantic world compared to Liberty City and there are hundreds of missions more than there are in IV, but Skyrim is about being a dragon hunter in an ancient fantasy world and IV is about being a hired gun in the underworld of modern New York. With a completely different context, there's no way of accurately comparing these two games.

First of all , making a "top five" kind of article is not what I call a good article . Fun to read , but way too easy . And must of all : they are two different types of games so I don't get the comparaison . I wait for the " final fantasy XIII , Call of Duty , Forza Horizon : wich one is the best ? " article .

Comparing any Elder Scrolls game to any Grand Theft Auto game is a f*cking apples to oranges comparison. Christ, you might as well compare Call of Duty to Gran Turismo while you're at it.

this article sucks.

GTA and Skyrim are 2 completely different games.

apples and oranges.

the only thing they have in common is that the overworld functions like a sandbox.

trying to compare them based on any other aspect is unfair.

you compare GTA to True Crime or Saints Row.

you compare Skyrim to Dragon Age or Mass Effect.

is it just me who thought Skyrim was boring as hell? I must admit, I didn't get too far into it thanks to the giant ass spiders and myself being an arachnophobe, it just felt too big and empty.

Seems like articles are popping up all over the place with "GTA V" in the title just to get some people reading it, even if its complete bullsh*t. Like this.

There are some things Rockstar does better than Bethesda, and some things Bethesda does better than Rockstar. But if you look at their games objectively and measure them in terms of content and available choices as to how you go about playing that content, then Skyrim dwarfs GTA.

While you can probably compare the two on some levels they are as many have mentioned entirely different experiences and with two very different philosophies behind the development of them. While they have commonalities in both being open world they are both of a differing genre and style it's ridiculous to say one is on a technical level better than the other. Sure you can say you enjoyed one over the other or one has features that might work in the other title but saying things like, there is more choice in Skyrim doesn't work because that was a game made to give you the choices while GTA, being an open-world experience, still restricts itself.

Someone mentioned above how Skyrim dwarfs GTA, and this is true because that was the purpose of Skyrim. It was made to be this amazing open experience where you were a person in this living breathing world. You were a living, breathing person who could travel from town to town and do what you wanted in terms of interaction and jobs. There were guilds and side quests, and you could ally yourself with a faction. You were supposed to be IN this world because it was a role-playing game.

GTA isn't a role-playing game, it's an action/adventure game that happens to be open world. You play a pre-determined character who has their own aspirations and goals, their own thoughts and feelings. You don't put yourself into the role you are in essence along for the ride. It's an amazing ride and there is still a huge amount to do but the game was made so that what you did, mostly, fit in with the character Rockstar had crafted.

Even if, say Bethesda did an Elder-Scrolls-esque game set in modern day you still can't compare the two because it comes down to the philosophy behind the creation.

Skyrim doesn't even compare to GTA. Skyrim is by far the most repetitive and boring game I've EVER played.

I dont think so. Skyrims one of the glitchiest games of all time. Along with anything else from Bethesda...

Why they compared totally different game? Besides that I think Skyrim is boring game, I got bored very fast from it.

You could be wandering through a forest minding your own business only for anything from a wolf, bear, tarantula or dragon to appear ex-nihilo and try to kill you. You could be assaulted by a bandit or a mage at any given time in the game, and due to the sporadic nature of dragons, they too could attack you at any given moment, making the forests and frozen wastelands of Skyrim much, much more lethal than the streets of Liberty City.
Yes, everyone should be attacking me while walking in LC suicidal.gif

And DLC? DLC mostly sucks, but GTA IV had very good DLCs, I would rather wait for good game 4years, than getting bad DLC's every year.

How is GTA not repetetive? Every mission plays out exactly the same every time you do it.

And how the f*ck are giant fire-breathing dragons, that fill the sky and are trying to kill you boring?

You can do missions in lots of different ways, not exactly way you have been told by game rolleyes.gif .

I honestly do not understand how Skyrim can be compared to GTA. They're two very totally different games; like comparing apples and oranges.

With that said, however, I prefer the modern aspect of GTA and shooting style over the ancient ruins and hack-and-slash theme of Skyrim. But, I cannot say either one is better than the other. All I can say is that I love them both. icon14.gif

Because every single dragon fight in Skyrim is essentially the same, and they're an absolute breeze to kill at later levels. I think it took like 5 shots with my high level Archer in my first playthrough. Joke.

Anyway, as others have mentioned - Skyrim and GTA are different games. They have different atmospheres, different styles, different time periods - you can't just make GTA: Elder Scrolls - because one is an action-adventure, and the other is an immersive RPG that has always had a huge emphasis on exploration (though one could argue with Skyrim, it's more action-adventure with perks and watered down RPG elements).

If there is ONE thing I want to see GTA emulate from Skyrim, it's the easy access mod tools. Bethesda released a mod toolkit to allow easy modding freedom, and I have to admit, I don't really like Skyrim. But after installing about 50 mods onto my game (with incredible ease) that fixed most of the problems the game initially had along with adding so much content, now the game is actually really great and I'm playing through it again right now - really enjoying it.

Every time I've tried to install a mod on GTA it's been a pain in the ass, along with the high chance of crashing or downright making the game unplayable.

I still don't understand why some developers to this day who release games on PC do not allow mod support on their products? Have we STILL learned nothing? Mods always make a game better, and if the mods are good enough new people WILL buy the game (ie Counter-Strike, DayZ). Are they afraid that the community will make a better game? I don't get it.

I Hope I haven't offended you with this thread JOSEPH Cause I already said no offence to skyrim fans smile.gif

Yeah it is unfair to compare GTA With Skyrim. I mean Skyrim is a fantasy game so obviously there would be more things to explore, more side missions and that stuff. but gta is close to real life so...........

The Elder Scrolls is a good series but not comparable with the Grand Theft Auto Series.

Oh no chance of that. I've played both games for 2,000+ hours and I'm a fan of both, but over 90% of my time in GTA IV was in multiplayer. You see if you've played Niko's story once then you've played it a thousand times. You are just moving between one cutscene and the next.

The only choices you have are whether you'll use a pistol or an assault rifle when you are doing a mission. In Skyrim you can go thru a mission using melee, archery, many types of magic, stealth or any combination of those. You can choose to play as one of 10 different races, use 18 different skills, you can play the game however you want. Many of the quests are radiant, which means if you play the game more than once the quest takes place in different locations.

Seriously, anyone who says it's repetetive is talking out there ass. There are simply too many random events that can happen to stop it being repetetive.

No, that's not the reason haha, i just find it kinda boring compared to Dark Souls, it's not the most repetetive game of all-time or anything, i just didn't enjoy it, that's all.

It's not a bad game by any means, 7/10 for me at best though, if it had a better combat system and better Third-person animations i'd have given it a 9/10.
