A all singing, all dancing series of story trailers, multiplayer trailers and TV spots released this week, with a ten minute interview vid with Houser explaining that the first trailer and the screenshots held clues within them to locations of further trailers etc. As it's coming up to a full 12 months since the first reveal and no-one managed to decipher the 'codes', they decide to announce the intended release date of Nov 2nd 2012! PreOrders start immediately and on Nov 3rd 2012 GTAV breaks all records and we all forget about the 'Year of Doom'.

-They will say the Game is in Full Development

 

-And then to finish it off

A trailer would be nice yes. But this is what we all expect. A trailer on this date. Really think Rockstar is going for the obvious?

Rockstar did say "in a few weeks or so" they'd release more to see. And that was about 6 weeks or so if I remember correctly. November 2nd is nearly a month from now and I find it REALLY unlikely that more than two months is what Rockstar would consider a few weeks or so.

Didn't we have to wait 6 months? It's been around 6 weeks.

They said "a few months" in January/February I think. It was July before we got anything so that was ~5/6 months. Keep in mind that the delay of Max Payne 3 might have contributed to this wait. They might have planned to give us more in March/April but because of the MP3 delay they waited until July. Who knows?

 

But yeah, we ended up waiting 5/6 months. Maybe Rockstar intended to give us something in September after they said "a few weeks or so" but they were delayed for whatever reason". We're now into 6 weeks. We SHOULD be getting info soon. My guess is that we won't get anything until after 15th October because that's when it starts to turn into "a couple of months".

 

I will honestly be shocked if we DON'T get anything this month. This is the perfect time to talk about GTA! This the 15th anniversary of GTA, 10th of Vice City and 1st of V announcement.

Something HAS to been done by then. Think of it, of coarse they'd acknowledge GTA V's Anniversary 1 year....right?

But, you know that GTA:V was already in development before the trailer right ?

I think that R* started with GTA:V in the begin of 2011.

Ofcoarse, But obviously the trailer is when the public got their first preview of the game, a week after the announcement, and i suspect there's a CHANCE that if we're going to get something, it will be then.

 

I doubt they started development in 2011 on a game this vast.

I'm not pulling it out of my "hind-end", I'm just saying, we're less than a month away from a whole year since R* officially announced GTA V, and what have we gotten so far is just a trailer and 10 screenshots. Most other games have a shorter time period between announcement and release, and still we don't even know when GTA V will be released. So will R* start marketing within this few weeks? Or keep mum until kingdom comes?

You see, here's what screwed us up: There was and is an airtight, absolutely brilliant GTAV marketing plan in place, and it has been ready to go since 2009.

 

The first step was to the be the blockbuster GTAV announcement and Trailer on 2 November 2012. But somebody read the year wrong, and accidentally put up the GTAV annoucement page and Trailer in November 2011.

 

So, the Rockstar marketing department is reading their publication schedule, and they will start the countown to the GTAV first announcement and first GTAV Trailer on 25 October 2012, just like it was planned. We will get GTAV Trailer #1 on 2 November 2012. I can't wait !!!
