The United States can expect a nuclear or biological terror attack before 2013, a commission will tell the Obama administration today.

Its study suggests that the incoming government must bolster efforts to counter and prepare for germ warfare by terrorists.

'Our margin of safety is shrinking, not growing,' states the report, which is not due to be released publicly until tomorrow.

 

I know that was posted in 2008 (but there has been recent news reports on it) but I'm just curious about the whole idea. I mean, it says before 2013. We only do have a few months left. I'm sure there was another 'doomsday' topic "Aloadedrifle" created; something similar to.

I'm not going to jump to conclusion and say it's going to happen but could something break out like this within a few months left on the year?

It may have seemed right for him to say that at the time but looking back on that statement, it was a pretty bad estimate.

 

I don't know when or where the next nuclear attack will be, but I'm 99% sure there won't be one within the next 3 months.

 

It will just feel right when we can at least estimate. I think that many people will be able to foresee it once we are nearer to the actual attack.

People have been worrying about this since the 50s.

 

I like to think mankind is smart enough to know better. So far that has proven pretty solid since the end of the cold war and huge nuclear missiles are no longer pointed at various land masses around the planet. Not too long ago it was possible/known/documented that we could blow up the planet in short order.

I know right? I'd rather be having a sh*t day and it just end in nuclear oblivion than know when it's going to happen and live my last days in anxiety. I can imagine driving home from work and hearing a loud cracking noise and then seeing a mountain of fire heading towards the highway, I think my last words would be "Well, this makes enough sense."

The US can expect a biological attack n a daily basis pretty much. otherwise they wouldn't have the Intelligence Community and DHS around. I'm pretty sure BO gets briefings on possible threats everyday. It's not really "news". The US can be sure to expect terrorist trying to blow up chemical weapons in their country everyday and anyday.

I think the most likely attack will be a biological one. Firstly, its a pain in the ass for the average terrorist to come upon the enriched uranium required to build a nuke. Secondly, the construction of nukes demands technical know how and professionalism that the average terrorist lacks. Biological or "dirty bombs" are somewhat less sophisticated and require much less technical know how to construct and properly execute.

I myself, attempted to counter 'Sivi' with a reasonable, albeit sarcastic, reply to his attack on The Dailly Mail newspaper. After reading some of his previous posts on these forums, I've gathered the impression he is your box-standard liberal.

 

So I gave him a link to a video that points out everything that is wrong with the liberal affiliated newspaper called The Gaurdian, in the hope I may get a response where he recognises these faults and clarifies his own stance with this particular publication.

 

But unfortunately he chose to ignore this opportunity, as acknowledging left-wing hypocrisy seems to be an impossibility when it comes to these fools.

 

So attempting to counter with him seems like a bit of a waste of time to be fair.

Conspiracy theories and such aside, I think now's a good time for people to start prepping (storing food, supplies, etc) just in case. It can never hurt to prepare for potential attacks or economic collapse.
