VATG
Indian art team to work exclusively on future Rockstar projects. Rockstar Games has partnered with multimedia firm Technicolor to establish a new high-end game art and animation team. The agreement will see a team of artists and animators at Technicolor's Bangalore-based studio working exclusively on Rockstar's upcoming titles. Rockstar has worked with Technicolor previously on Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire and Max Payne 3. Presumably, the firm is also lending a hand on GTA V. "This partnership reinforces Technicolor's strong commitment and strategy to growing its art and animation business for the video game industry and we are proud to work with cutting edge industry leaders like Rockstar Games," said Tim Sarnoff, president of Technicolor Digital Productions. VP of development at Rockstar Games, Jeronimo Barrera, added: "Technicolor were a fantastic resource for us during the development of Max Payne 3. We're looking forward to building the partnership on future projects." In addition to working with Rockstar, Technicolor also provides work for EA, SCEE and Square Enix. http://www.videogamer.com/xbox360/gta5/new...d_art_team.html

Dragonjack
Rockstar North must be really busy working on GTAV now. And the game is going to be "f*cking epic" as well.

MosquitoSmasher
I posted this today in the 'Few weeks or so' thread and someone, forgot his name, said that it's probably not for GTA V, cause that's rather late. And i think he's right on that. This article assumes they are working on GTA V as well. But who's to say they already haven't done their job on GTA V? JaggySnake
So, there's Rockstar North working on V. San Diego were rumoured to be working on it too, although I'm not sure accurate that is. Now there's Technicolor.

Gtaghost22
More people lending hand on GTAV. This game is big. They didn't lie when they said it's thier "biggest and most ambitious game they ever created". I can't wait for this game, i'm still as excited as ever, i know i don't post in this section a lot anymore, but that's not because i'm not excited for V or anything, there is just nothing to discuss anymore that's all. Now there's Technicolor. I have heard that 2K Czech is helping them out. Something similar went into RDR, these are signs of issues, delays, it shouldn't be normal to have so many studios involved. I remember reading a piece saying that RDR took 4 years and loads of over time to make and the help of San Diego

kj2022
this can only be good news, if they've been working with them since Red Dead and Max Payne, then GTA V is gonna be massive.

Romans Cousin Niko
If they are still working on designing GTA V (and not refining it) then I still think we've got a long wait ahead of us .

I remember reading a piece saying that RDR took 4 years and loads of over time to make and the help of San Diego That's only really a problem during development. Sure, it might have taken a lot of time and effort to make the game but have you played it? It's one of Rockstars best games ever. I believe it's their best game since 2004 which was when San Andreas came out. I don't care how long it takes for GTA V to come out as long as it ends up high quality. All I want right now is Rockstar to give us an honest update on the game. All we get is "full development/substantial progress" from TakeTwo and all Rockstar ever say is "we're working really hard on it! more coming in a few weeks/months". How hard is it for ONE person to take about half an hour to give us an update on the newswire? I fail to see how that can, in anyway, harm anyone be that Rockstar, TakeTwo or us, the fans. It'd make things better not worse! People want to know, after nearly a year of waiting, what's going on with the game! It's not like if they give us an update we'll be like "f*ck YOU ROCKSTAR! not buying the game anymore!" that's what people say when they DON'T give us anything. /rant over. mkey82
^^^ They f*cked up big time when they decided to release the first trailer. Now they're making up with some silence. Maybe they used your logic and figured "an early trailer can't hurt us," right? Wrong, incorrectly timed information is terrible. Granted, a newswire status update and a trailer are not exactly the same level of information.

Binman
Wow are they outsourcing in india where the work cost less? Just because the work cost is less doesn't mean the quality will be, plus there work ethic in India is usually harder than ours.

europeanbob
I'm not sure why people are reading any major change into this news. R* and Technicolor aren't announcing new work together or anything - they're just saying the relationship will be exclusive. That means that R* are going to be driving sufficient work to Technicolor that they don't feel the need to go seek out additional work. For want of a better word, this is like an acquisition, except that it's time-limited. This will make no difference at all to R* game building capacity; this is more about Technicolor. Yeah i understood it like this, plus it's probably cheaper for R* rather than paying contractors right?
