universetwisters
Not sure if you guys knew or not, but theres this show called "my little pony: friendship is magic", which revolves around anthromoporphic ponies. Somehow, the series is some kind of fad online and in real life. What do you guys personally think of the show? personally, I despise it. I see nothing interesting or awe-striking in that show, or its fanbase. It's just a dumb fad that'll fade away like all the others. Why people waste their time & money buying merchandise and the likes of it, i have no idea. Abel.
GreatGig
People spend their time and money on all sorts of sh*t. I think that as long as no one is getting hurt, let them. Not everyone is going to like your interest/hobby so why bother worrying about it. As for this My Little Pony nonsense, the only thing I don't like is the whole "Brony" thing. It's such a horrible word.

Remix
personally, I despise it. Why people waste their time & money buying merchandise and the likes of it, i have no idea. So because you don't understand something, you despise it? I'm not a brony but I believe My Little Pony has underlying themes that only adults understand. I honestly have never watched the show so I can't comment too much on it, but I've heard it's an extremely well-written children's show. Written well enough to be enjoyed by adults, it seems. Ryda King
I heard a lot about it, didn't see the appeal. So I watched one episode to see what all the rage was and it's just some kids show clearly aimed at girls. I don't get it. But hey, if that's what ya like, more power to ya. Benjimino234
I think it's perfectly okay, in general people can like whatever they like - free will and all. It's just like being into any TV show or a type of music. I've watched a couple episodes for curiosity, it's good - well in terms of other cartoons aimed towards the young girl demographic. It certainly not painful to watch, it's not overload cuteness, pinks, tea parties and sh*t like you would expect - it didn't bore me watching it, characters and plot are entertaining. Which is good since parents would also watch it with their kids and isn't annoying/boring to watch with them. All in all it's just a TV show, adults can still watch kid shows so what's the big deal. E.A.B.
It's a show I watch and enjoy I watch it a little infrequently, though. But Im almost done with season 2. Only 6 more episodes to go! There's a lot of drama between people that love the show and people that hate it. It's f*cking retarded

Pyrrhic
Despite the target demographic of young girls and their mothers, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic has become an Internet phenomenon, with many male fans between 13 and 35. The response from the Internet has been traced to cartoon and animation fans on the Internet board 4chan, responding to Amidi's negative essay on the show and on current trends in animation. As a result of the discussion on 4chan, interest in the show spread throughout other parts of the Internet, creating a large fanbase representing a form of New Sincerity and a multitude of creative works, fan sites, and conventions. The fanbase has adopted the name "brony" (a portmanteau of "bro" and "pony") to describe themselves. The older fanbase had come as a surprise to Hasbro, Faust, and others involved with the show. They have appreciated and embraced the fandom, adding subtle nods to the fans within the show and the toys, while allowing the creative elements of the fandom to flourish without legal interference. Although I'm a /b/ regular I honestly don't see the whole attraction so many people have to it, it's not fascinating, and satanic messages are purely coincidental and in all seriousness it is aimed at 5 year old girls; not grown men. I don't hate the show or the people that watch it, it's their free will just as to they can decide who to marry, it's just that I can't comprehend why these men want to sit around watching a show about talking ponies. Everyone has their own sh*t they like, please tell me how perfect you are. No, I ain't a brony, but everyone has this childish thing they like. Mike Tequeli
I haven't seen it and I don't intend to, there seems to be some strange form of mind control that convinces viewers that a show for little girls is totally worth talking about and watching. Bronies are just victims of this mind control. I suspect if I watched an episode I would be transformed into some fat autistic loser who will keep insisting at inopportune times "how complex its themes are" Exhibit A: If you like cringing There are literally hundreds of these, how did so many people come to the conclusion this was a good idea? The fans never seem to shut the f*ck up about it. Or the haters for that matter. Case in point, the topic creator. The show is fine, I have watched the entire first season, and a bit of the second. There were references that would go over the head of its target market. Also Lasers are magic too. Formerly known as The General
Pat
how did so many people come to the conclusion this was a good idea? Because the rise of the fandom gave social introverts an excuse to sperg out with other social introverts over a common interest. Most of them don't like the show, they just like the opportunity to feel like they're part of a group. A group of adult men who watch a cartoon about pastel colored ponies, but a group nonetheless. I guess more than anything, that just tells you how f*cking desperate they are for interaction with other human beings that doesn't involve ending a sentence by sputtering "y-you too." I don't care what the f*ck you want to watch, but please, talk about it somewhere else. This site is pretty much the only place I have left where brony nonsense isn't common place on at least some portion of it, and I sincerely hope it stays that way. This is pretty much my thoughts on it. I watched a bit of the first episode out of curiosity but after about 7 minutes in, I'd had enough. Nothing particularly wrong with it. Hypothetically, say if I had a young daughter, I could imagine that it wouldn't be too hard to sit through it with her, but that's the only scenario where I could actually see myself willingly watching it. I don't care for the brony fad though. I'm sure some of them genuinely like it (and fine, it's a bit weird but whatever) but I suspect a lot of them are just going along with it to try and be part of this group just for the sake of being part of something different. I definitely don't have a problem with grown men liking a kid's show though. One of my favourite cartoons is Batman: TAS. A show generally aimed at children but with writing of such quality that it appeals to Batman fans of all ages Never a fan of those troll dolls either. "Awful, awful hair." No, that wasn't a part of your REM dream sequence, there was a similar thread that got locked. The only difference is that thread was made by a brony who was seeking out other bronies in gen chat, he revived his efforts in the movies and tv section but it ended up dying there so I guess we have yet to be infiltrated by the brony tribe or if we do have some brony members they're keeping their affiliations to themselves which is fine by me. Keep that sh*t on the down low.

trip
Back during the original release of the toys(I don't even think there was a cartoon) in the 80s we realized the girls were speaking about their vagina. I didn't really look hard, but the commercial it sparked from was one where the girl was in a bathtub with her 'little pony' *wink *wink This brony stuff is just gayness run wild. Some dudes got home from school and thought it would be funny to smoke some weed and watch the cartoon. They giggled their asses off and ended up sharing their fun on social networking whohas... Blam...people have to do the same to be cool. The origin is forgotten and now there is a host of people that have no idea as to why they like my little pony crap. WorldofCog
I've had enough of having bronies shoving ponies down my throat on every site I go to. Seriously, bronies are the most annoying fanbase on the Internet. (I find them slightly more annoying than Beliebers and Directioners). And as for the show, I've watched 2 episodes and I didn't care much about it.
