The OP is clearly stating his belief that the main character of GTAV is Max Payne, from the Max Payne franchise. Are you serious? He quotes, " I know it's unlike R* to do this...but there is always a chance." Chance? No way in hell would Rockstar ever do this. The OP is a f*cking idiot. However... Ignoring this presentation of a laughable theory - the OP has created an original and new analysis for GTAV's first trailer. I think his theory is the beginning foundation for other ideas. What if Ned Luke and Max Payne were related, like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction? What if they were alien species from another planet, brought to Los Santos, and could morph into any object they perceive. Maybe there's a connection between all the Epsilon info, Max Payne 3, and the main character of GTAV? There's always a chance. No matter how small it is. It exists. Great contribution, OP I just want to clarify, that I in no way, think that the protag will be Max Payne. I'm just offering up theories for people to see, I mean after all, R* hasn't given us to much to work with. Well either way, I don't think their characters are alike. Ned Luke seems more of a clean cut, and a badass in terms of a Tony Soprano or a young Robert De Niro sort of way. Max Payne has a more dark voice while the man in the suit has a "stronger" voice. It's hard to describe it detailed to be honest. The male in the trailer who is talking looks A LOT like Max Payne. So what if he's the protagonist? It's a stupid idea, I know, and I'm probably going to get laughed at, and get hate. But just LOOK at the pictures closely. Tell me they don't look a like at all? See, I know it's unlike R* to do this, and I'm most likely wrong, but there is always a chance. Here is a picture of the man from the trailer, and Max Payne, in a similar pose. Now I know they don't look EXACTLY alike, but for the most part, they do. Now this is just a theory of what I've noticed within both the games. It's very unlikely that this is true, but you never know, anything goes. Bogus! Although we can debate that the Max Payne universe is shared with the Grand Theft Auto universe, although that would be off topic and there isn't too much evidence to suggest this. The two games are related via the social club so I wouldn't be surprised but a lot of people would be pissed, MP3 fans would not... I would be surprised but not pissed... It's plausible to see him being one of the protags in the "multiple protag" theory, or a one of the multiplayer characters. Kinda like rockstars version of "mario" or "sonic"... The dude could be in the middle of a threesome with two bisexual playboy playmate of the year winners and still be all like "God my life sucks". He's like a black hole that no joy can escape from. I wouldn't mind it too much, I mean think about it, after all he's been through it's hard to be happy again. Niko Bellic went through a war where several of his best friends straight up died and even he laughs once in a while. Max Payne seems more like those goth kids from south park that drink coffee and smoke cigarettes. Except replace both with getting drunk. And apparently despite his job being the worst goddamn job on the planet, he never considers maybe retiring from the bodyguard business and getting a job as a wall mart greeter. Or a beer taste tester. He also has real original view points on culture. I mean, wow, rich people are shallow? Yeah, never heard that one before. And by the way, payne, I would personally rather be playing one of them, because at least they seem physically possible of having a good time. You just get drunk and shoot stuff. Real people in the real world lose family all the f*cking time and they don't spend the rest of their god damn lives getting drunk at an apartment. The ones that do and also constantly spew crap about how the world is crap and people are sh*t and stuff are pathetic specimens that no one wants to even be around, let alone pretend to be them. I don't buy for a second that max payne is a real human being, because his character is as deep as the south park goth kids and the goth kids are supposed to be an exaggeration. i'm kinda a goth/emo, drink coffee all day, smoke, and often drink alcohol. you should judge people on how they act, i'm one of the happiest guys in my friendship circle. Max is one hell of a protag, his dark inner monologues are often rather interesting and entertaining, albeit a bit pessimistic. he's been through sh*t, yet he still wants that happy ending. he wouldn't be that good in a GTA game, especially Los Santos, he seemed kinda outta place without being in New York, though a protag similar to him would be a rather good character. and btw, max quits drinking in number 3. I was talking about the goth kid characters in south park. You know, these guys? Seriously tell me you don't see any similarities. Really, say it with a straight face. Dark inner monologues. You know, dark doesn't mean good or interesting. If I did this I would be seen, very rightly, as a dick. Just ask everyone who has seen my cynicism about GTA V info release predictions. I still stand by what I said before, he could be in a 3 way with 2 bisexual playboy models and he still wouldn't be happy. He's not deep, he's one dimensional.
