AuSsIeThUnDeR36
I was thinking how it could make the story for V more interesting by having repuccusions if you fail a mission. At the moment we just have 'Ok I failed the mission, hey it's ok, just try again.' I think the following would make things more realistic.. Imagine this - Let's say you fail a mission where you accidentally let a bad guy get away, then you get a call from your buddy saying the bad guy has returned, but with more backup this time. Then say if you fail that mission, the whole gang comes after you. Scenario Two - You are on a date mission when suddenly she is grabbed by mafia and thrown into a car. You have to chase them. If you let them escape, you fail the mission, making the next mission even harder. They have her hostage now and you have more enemies to get past. Let's say you fail that mission, then they start threatening her life and it could be a really tough mission where you have to rescue her within a time frame. If you complete the missions with minimal fails then you receive more and more backup so for the final mission you have a small army working for you. On the other hand, if you play somewhat poorly over the course of the game, you will have a few guys backing you up for the final mission. This would make the storyline more interesting and branch it off down different paths instead of the player when failing a mission and doing the old 'reload save' trick it would make the player more interested to think 'what happens next?' and have to deal with repuccusions if you let someone escape. If not for V, would it be possible for Rockstar to implement this idea for different pathways in future gtas?
r0eladn
I dont think the 'if you fail a mission it becomes harder the next time' thing is very practical.
Los Santos citizen
This was in GTA IV and i don't see why it wouldn't be in V except a harder mission next time because your just repeating the story when trying again
Mig10
There's only one problem with it. Like me there are many other gamers that really enjoy to play the missions using all resources, all hypotheses but with too many options you could find yourself with dozens of outcomes, from storyline to ways to complete a mission, that may become impossible to play the game the way you want and spend too many hours exploring those details and wondering what path to follow. SchizNitz
This was in GTA IV and i don't see why it wouldn't be in V except a harder mission next time because your just repeating the story when trying again This wasn't in IV. Quantic dream did this in Heavy Rain and they're doing it again with Beyond Two Souls, Its a great concept.
Racecarlock
I don't think it's needed. All it would do is make a player play through the game more than once to see all of the endings. That's it. And really, if a player does lose he'll just reload, adding another step to the old "Fail mission, go to marker/use the retry message on your cell phone" routine. It doesn't really add that much if you think about it. Well, unless you delete/overwrite your saves every time you make a choice, but can you really expect everyone to do that? No. So it would really just be pointless.
Game2048
I don't like this at all, because all this will require additional time of developers. Look what happened to the Witcher 2 - the game is short, while it was divided into two parts with different locations and events, depending on your decisions. It's very bad idea, because playing of the game the second time is much less interesting than the first
Hayze
Casual gamers will fail the beginning missions and just say the game is f*cking lame and stop playing it.
TheTacoWhoWasntThere
I'm w/ you. I thoroughly enjoy the Fallout/Mass Effect series because there are repercussions to how you play and not everyone has the same ending (which was a major strength for these games). More choice, more branching story lines, more side missions for supporting characters. You're on the right path.
Slippery Gypsy
you know that mission at the start of gta iv where roman gets beat up at the basketball courts? let him die?
Entei
you know that mission at the start of gta iv where roman gets beat up at the basketball courts? let him die and remove a major annoyance from the game. FTFY But seriously no. It should go as far as having different convos every time you die/restart a mission They did that in IV and I killed myself multiple times just to hear the different convos. el_roy1985
I thought IV was going to do this. Being you had to make choices at times. Then it turned out that that was just to make you feel like you were making a choice that would effect something, but it really didn't change ish. Except for that last decision you make. Why did they suddenly decide to make a choice actually matter to the storyline?
RockStarNiko
I never use replay mission. I reload my last save point if I happen to die or fail a mission in some way
