The information should still be pretty darn clear) Now these are almost the same price and generally almost the same really. What would be your take on which one is the better laptop? The graphics card is quite a bit faster in that, and the processor is more than enough for most if not all games. Which is more important to you? Higher framerates or slightly faster video rendering/etc? If the latter, then the Alienware is probably best for you. I wouldn't be surprised if the Alienware lasts longer on battery also because the newer CPU will be able to clock down lower at idle, and the graphics card is 28nm as opposed to the 40nm on the MSI. Speaking of graphics, performance of mobile graphics is not the same as their desktop models. A laptop GTX580M will not have same performance as a desktop GTX580. According to Notebookcheck, it says GTX580M is equivalent to a desktop GTX560Ti, but due to the higher clock on the GTX 560Ti. Desktop GTX560Ti is faster than a GTX580M. For the price you want to spend, I suggest you get a desktop. It will run ring on both of the laptops you picked and maybe get yourself a SSD. A desktop generally is a bad idea for me for I'm an international student. So having to bring my desktop with me everywhere is rather a pain. Not to mention taking that to lectures, sheesh...
