I'd like to lie to myself and say a normal healthy number like 5....

It's time to admit to myself I'm obsessed.

I love these people who say they have lost interest, yet they visit GTA related sites everyday to talk about the game they are ''no longer interested in''

Indeed. And here's the thing: There are all kinds of feelings that we have about something that we want. These feelings mutate as the situation evolves. When the GTAV Trailer came out in November 2011, we all were swept away with unbridled enthusiasm, joy and anticipation.

 

Then the long long silence came and caused us terrible disappointment, sadness, doubt, confusion, a sense of betrayal, and a displacement of our very sense of logic and reality. Our interest and enthusiasm did not necessarily waver, but these horrible experiences tainted our perceptions and made us miserable, masking and clouding our joy.

 

So in fact, a one-dimensional poll like "How's your enthusiasm level now?" does not capture the complex mix of feelings that we are all going through. Yes, we still want GTAV as bad as the first day it was announced, but now we don't know what to think, what to believe, what to hope for and what to give up. What a mess....

Well, I put down a 6 because though I'm not completely disinterested, i'm also not completely interested either. With the cover reveal tomorrow, if it's V then it'll soar to a 10...if not, well...

May sound odd, but I'm at a 3.1 right now.

 

Currently I'm interested in Forza Horizon and my pre-ordered LCE is coming at latest by October 27th.

The info drought and broken promises have left me uninterested, I wasn't even excited about the last 4 screens.

For me, part of the fun in games is the hype and interest before you get the game. While the developers do not spoil everything, they release exciting and suspenseful info and it really makes the time before having the game fun. It makes you look forward to the game even more.

 

But, with GTA V, that's not happening. This secrecy over info is overkill and has killed my hype a lot. It's not even fun. The funnest thing to do V related is laugh at stupid comments and make fun of how R*'s definition of "few" is so incorrect.

Unless we have an explosion of info and then regular info/confirmations, I will not find the time before having the game that fun, and honestly if I got V right now, I would not be dancing sideways or rolling on the floor.

I'm saying 9 because i'm hyped for the game but not nearly as hyped as i was for GTAIV so that's the only reason its a 9 cause i remember how i felt when GTAIV info was coming out....

Very interested, but I'm starting to lose excitement and hype. Genuinely. When the trailer and press release were first revealed I was practically jumping up and down like a six year old, not literally, but emotionally. Maybe I'm just a little more mature.

I'm lost hype over it because there's simply nothing to get excited about. I freaked out when I saw that GTA V was announced, I nearly passed out watching the trailer and I lost it when we got new screenshots.

 

I will be the one that's like "OMFG!! THEY'VE RELEASED NEW SCREENS GUYS!!! FUUUUUCK YEAAAH! GO ROCKSTAR!" or "WOOOW THAT TRAILER WAS f*ckING AWESOME! I NEED TO WATCH IT ON REPEAT UNTIL I PASS OUT!!" but I have nothing to be excited over so...no hype.

 

Release the trailer and I will release the full force of my inner Rockstar Fanboy! until then I'm just gonna f*cking swear and moan a lot

It's interesting how the results of the poll are almost a countdown. Anyway, I'm a 5 at the moment. My interest increases rapidly whenever there are new screens or a trailer, but it also decreases rapidly when we're left with nothing for months. So, I'm midway now. Hoping Rockstar won't let me reach a 3.

Atleast you're honest. Anyone who's voted for 2 or below I'd have to wonder why they're still here. Most of the time it's people who still post in here regularly aswell. It seems counterproductive to still be posting in a forum directed at a game you have little to no interest in IMO.

 

I couldn't give a flipping batsh*t about Black Ops 2 which is why I'm not a member of a COD forum. I'd say I'm about a 9. My interest is still very high despite the drought.
