It has been too long since I've played GTA IV. I think the last time I actually played it was a year ago. I was too busy trying to complete GTA V, which I did. I need to fire up the PS3, and just cruise around Liberty. I'd also like to mention that I really, really love Star Junction at night. Looks really awesome.

Some NPCs don't give a damn about their umbrellas though. After it rains, they just throw them on the ground and walk away.

I enjoyed exploring random interiors in Liberty City. They add more depth and mystery to the world, which is something I see missing from Los Santos. A good example of an interior is Governor Greg Johnson Projects north of Algonquin. The apartment complexes were accessible from ground to roof with a few enterable apartments like Dwayne Forge's. The blood-stained floors, dirty kitchen and furniture of Dwayne's apartment add a sense of place. It's an echo of the grim world of Liberty City.

Liberty City is my home away from the real world. I have a bad day at work, get home, change into my comfortable clothes, grab my big drinking glass, fill that baby with 60 mls of Johnny Walker and the rest Coca Cola, none of that fake coke stuff. Four ice cubes. Settle into my black leather office armchair, feet up on my home made cushiony comfortable foot rest and fire up the 32 inch Sony Bravia flat screen, Ps3 and Logitech surround sound.

Liberty City is amazing.

 

The only downside is that the graphics of IV on PS3 look awfully blurry. I get used to it after a while, but if when I first start up the game, stepping out of Niko's apartment in Middle Park East gives me an eyesore because of the awful anti-aliasing and blurry, grimey filter. Most PS3 games don't have this problem, so it's unfortunate. V on PS4 has spoiled me.

 

My dream is that LC was released on GTA Online, with updated graphics. Would make the experience 100 % complete.

I've been meaning to get back to IV again. Been playing and enjoying V for over a month now but I feel it's time I give it a little rest so that it stays fresh for long. Haven't touched IV properly in ages. I'll be installing some mods to enhance my new play through, nothing over the top though. Looking forward to re-visiting LC.

^ I have to do the exact opposite. As soon as the next V DLC launches I'll be giving IV a rest and heading back to Los Santos. It's pretty awesome to be able to switch back and forth between these two incredibly detailed cities. But for now, I'm still enjoying Liberty City, it's been sublime.

Liberty City is amazing.

I got mine from eBay.

It was located in Oklahoma (and I'm pretty f*cking far from OK!), then it was shipped to my friend in UK and he shipped it to me; cost me about $150 in total with the shipping costs, but it was totally worth it; it was even still sealed. Look around, you might find one.
