I bought a pc including gtx 680 and i5 2500k clocked to 4.2 just to max out this game but im sure i won't if its going to be on the new consoles. Is it even being released to PC at all? There's just alot of uncertainty on things, and sooner or later Rockstar has to come out and be clear about the game. Consoles come with a lot of bugs and problems in the first year. - Graphics don't look that good for next gen. Uncharted 3 just proves current gen consoles can reproduce those kind of graphics. -Would not make sense to release a trailer 3/4 years before the game is out. It might eventually end up on the new consoles, but the game will no doubt first release on curent platforms. europeanbob Posted September 24, 2012 Share Posted September 24, 2012 Unlike others, I don't think this is a totally unrealistic worry: there are already games slipping to next gen (e.g. Thief 4), and games well under way for PS4 etc. It all comes down to this: when was GTAV supposed to be released, and when will PS4 land? Personally, I believe GTAV was originally scheduled to be out by now. I think it has slipped. That's not that controversial an opinion. I also believe PS4 will be out a lot sooner than people think (720 too, for that matter) - probably next summer. If GTAV is in trouble development-wise, slipping to the next gen does two handy things: first, it allows you to charge a lot more money for a AAA launch title, making up for slack numbers, but second it allows you to bypass technical issues. Frame rate not good enough? No problem, move to next gen. Not enough space on disk? Next gen. A game that's stuttering and spluttering on PS3/360 will play fine on a next-gen machine, and porting is not a huge issue because new console hardware is pretty much all tested PC components (unlike PS3, at launch). However, I doubt this is going to happen. GTAV would have to be in serious trouble for that to look like a good solution. I think GTAV will be amongst the last hurrah of this gen. Seeing as the PS3 is confirmed to be fully supported until at LEAST 2015, there's no chance for it to come to next gen. Plenty of other reasons as well.
