VATG
Why not? they already did it in RDR so the map is basically ready and they hint us that this is going to be a BIG game ["in the LARGEST and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created"]... imo it will fit perfectly with the typical GTA story of the immigrant coming out from nothing to something ["Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar"]... what you think? Honest Bill
It would be awesome. the possibilities for missions relating to the border are endless.
jdv95
nice idea and the more i think about it the more i start to believe that RDR was actually a testing program for gta v taken to acount the wildlife and the mapsize and such

Frantz Fuchs
While I suggested this idea before, I doubt it will happen as they've already done this in RDR. People would criticize them for lack of ideas. But there will undoubtedly be a lot of Mexicans the more South you go...
rex84
It's a storyline that practically writes itself: Logan Heights is the most notorious Hispanic street gang in San Diego. With over 400 soldiers, the gang outnumbers all of their enemies combined. Logan Heights makes its money selling marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines on the streets of the city. The gang has a storied history as the hit squad for one of the most feared drug organizations in the world? The Tijuana Cartel. Beginning in the early 90's, Logan Heights gang members began working as assassins for the Cartel. The deadly pairing is responsible for one of the most shocking murders in Mexican history. VATG
It would be awesome. the possibilities for missions relating to the border are endless. yep, smuggling people/drugs/merchandise/cattle/cars/etc through the desert, encounter border police... dogs sniffing your car at the border trying to find drugs... "Grand Theft Auto V heads to the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches in the largest and most ambitious game Rockstar has yet created." "surrounding hills, countryside" could this refers to what we're talking about??? Edited September 17, 2012 by VATG

RED_
It would be a boring a cliche storyline. Something we've seen a million times before so I doubt R* would go down that path.

wadiya1
Hopefully a second trailer gets dropped soon. That's where I think we'll get a better idea of what the map will look like. I don't want to see the map itself, but perhaps more areas than those shown in the first trailer... almost a year ago now... can't believe it... Cuzzzin
I would say probably not since LA is pretty far from Mexico, but they could shift things around. A San Diego/Tijuana game would be interesting, but the drug trade and crime in Mexico is currently a national emergency. Depicting it in a video game might not work out well (See the most recent Call or Juarez game).

Because state also means country.. at least in my definition and according to translate tools. Not sure if this is a common word in the english language or if "country" is more popular. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sovereign_state http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country But let's not getting offtopic here.. Mexico in GTA would be f*ckin awesome.. I think it's possible that at least the mexican border will be in the game. And if drugs play any role in the game, then it's actually a must have. grope_4_that_date
No- Rockstar needs to focus on Los Santos and it's surroundings, including another country would take back from that. Mexico would need as much map area as Red Dead Redemption (you can't have Mexico be the size of Bohan), so already you've lost a good portion of the total map. On top of that, you have the California wilderness and other possible enviroments that have yet to be revealed. Mexico is too big of a location, physically and just as a name. GTAV is going to have an American theme and an American vibe. Mexico would just take back from that. However, I do think the Mexican culture, music, and people will make it's way into the game. A lot of the locations surrounding Los Angeles are flooded with great Latin architecture, such as Santa Barbara and San Pedro. Also, Mexican immigration (illegal) is obviously a big topic in Los Angeles at the moment. It has created a lot of controversy, tension, and even riots all across the state. Even people who are legal citizens are being abused and discriminated against. There is no doubt in my mind it will be apart of V's story.
