So if we got RDR Newswire post today I don't think it will be this week. I just want the satisfaction of knowing that the marketing campaign has 100% started, and as of right now the REAL juicy marketing hasn't started. Exactly my thoughts. I don't want to make unfounded claims about the guy and say he lied. Only he knows if he's making it up or not. But I just know it wasn't Rockstar's marketing people that gave him any info as was speculated. As I've mentioned before, given that people further than that in the company do not know about the timing of announcements + game asset releases (trailers/screenshots etc.), it can also not really be a developer. I would say this only really leaves the option of gaming press, whether that be a magazine or online publication. If they are scheduled to have previews this week, they would know about it. It is certainly possible that someone at a publication told him about it. I have received information this way before back in 2007 for GTAIV. We'll have to wait and see what happens. It's selling very well still to this date... and is a pretty awesome game to play still. But yeah, anything and everything that Rockstar posts or talks about should not always be looked at as a form of marketing. The newswire is not a billboard, it is the official portal in the community. For instance, the Instragram posts or the latest Red Dead post are stuff that they seemingly find of interest and think fans would find interesting, too. I just thought I'd say that given how some people read too much into things like they did with the GTA radio ads posts the other day (like it's a "sign" of more GTA things to come etc.). First, there's this video, whereby he talks about the false and inaccurate made-up leak on the game, not even questioning it and taking it as a factual leak: And here, even more shockingly, in April of this year he said we'll get info on GTAV's multiplayer modes "this month, or maybe next month": And here, he spreads further false info saying Rockstar said they want GTAV to come out in May 2013 (which is outside of the current fiscal year): I have not watched further GTAV videos of his but now knowing more on this person through his videos and how he blatantly spreads false information, I think it shouldn't be a surprise to think that this latest tweet of his is sh*te as well.
