GrandMaster Smith

I'd rather see them do something more along the lines of RDR's storyline, how the sub plots ran around the implementation of the federal government in the west.

I think it'd be cool to see a story revolve around the collapse of the federal government and federal reserve as a whole along with our current economic crisis. The trailer did imply the game being based around the almighty dollar so I'm kind of expecting a story involving the fed reserve in one way or another.

It's probably going to have something to do with having to result to criminal activities to obtain money since the economy has become broken.

None:

Ex mafia goon leaves Liberty City, and tries to live a normal life. Raises a family, all is well.

Eventually he finds out there's a price on his head for leaving his guys in LC. So he turns back to crime so he can afford to protect his family, and eventually has to take out the person who put the hit on him in the first place.

I'm calling it now.

So if i read correctly and 100% agree due to the fact they did say the financial problems of the dollar, criminal activity will take place? I'm hoping that it may tie in someway maybe like a Fed bargaining with gangs and Cartel but then business goes wrong causing a corruption of the Federal Government. That's all my train of thoughts can reach with this little info. We will see in the next week or two tounge.gif

I'm really curious what's the gangs in Grand Theft Auto V. For myself it has to be the mafia guys and also the bloods & Crips in L.A, hopefully Rockstar will fix this sort gang problem they did back in GTA: SA it was just too stupid to me honestly. confused.gif

GTA IV was the only GTA with a story in my opinion. We already know GTA V story will be about money but I'd like it to be like IV in the sense of the character progression. I felt for Niko and don't normally do that with GTA games.

It's hard to say if I want it to be a revenge plot or the protagonists past catching up with him/them. Considering that there may be more than one protagonist I suppose we could have both?

I went for A as it's the closest to what I would like to see, which is...

-Protagonist Name:

Ned Luke (for lack of anything better).

-Age:

Mid forties.

-Bio:

Hailing from a small city on the East Coast, Ned joined the Marines after high school and became a Hydra (Harrier) pilot after completing officer training. He served in the first Gulf War in 1991 but was unfairly dishonourably discharged after getting into a fight and punching a fellow officer (the other officer goaded him into it but was not discharged; due in large part to his families political connections, hence Ned’s bitterness about the incident and feeling his dismissal was unfair). This discharge worked against him and meant he couldn't find a regular civilian job.

A year later, after moving back to his home town, he met some old friends who had a 'job' lined up and they offered him a cut and the promise of a position with them if all went well, as his expertise with weapons and tactics from being in the Marines would be a great asset.

The job in question involved robbing a drug shipment from some Mafia types. Due to his leadership and tactical knowledge the job went off without a hitch, eliminating a local criminal organisation in the process and setting up Ned and his old friends as a new criminal enterprise in the area.

For the next 16 years (until 2010) everything was fine, the organisation went from strength to strength with Ned often taking a central, active role in jobs due to it being a relatively low key operation (this helped to keep him in good shape).

He finally decided that he had had enough of that life though and as he had saved up a considerable amount (unlike his colleagues who had splashed it around on cars and clubbing etc.) he decided to retire out to LS with his wife and children.

After he left, things fell apart back on the East Coast and the organisation lost power. The police and rival gangs moved in and the organisation was crippled. His friends then had no source of income and no real savings (unlike Ned). They feel that Ned owes them because they gave him a break all those years ago and on top of this they're suspicious because the police and rival gangs came down on them very soon after Ned departed which causes them to think he betrayed them, so rather than asking for a small loan until they can get back on their feet (which Ned would be happy to do) they plan to kidnap his family or just out and out rob him. Luckily another of Ned’s friends who has remained loyal to him forewarns him of this and Ned is able to safely get his family out of the country to go and stay with an old Marine friend who lives in Japan, while Ned stays to sort out the problem. When Ned is at the airport seeing his family off his old associates arrive and ransack his house, stealing a large amount of cash and torching his place.

This sets Ned back to square one with no easy way of getting to the rest of his money which is tied up in the Cayman Islands. When he arrives home and sees the burning house he knows what he must do, he meets his gardener (who has also become a good acquaintance) and goes to stay at his place in the ghetto, and from there gets involved with local criminals to get revenge and start his way back up, and so GTA V begins...

-Skills:

Hand to hand fighting, advanced weapons training, conditioning, parachuting, advanced driving, helicopter and aeroplane pilot (all due to his time in the marines).

-Affiliations:

Hispanic street gang (his gardener and friend is uncle to two relatively high ranking figures in a Hispanic gang). Dislike of Military due to being unfairly dishonourably discharged.

(Maybe as a twist he could get 'revenge' on his old friends about halfway through, but due to events leading up to that he must continue on his new life of crime for some time more, rather than have the same antagonists throughout the story like in previous GTAs)

After the Ned Luke Story you then open up the possibility to play as Red Car Guy, who is linked to the Hispanic gangs Ned Luke works with briefly. He helped out on a number of mission in the 'main' story and so you get to see these missions from a different perspective.

His story actually begins before the Ned Luke story, with gang related missions before linking into the Ned Luke story and following the same path for a while before diverging off again into Red Car Guys own story.

I kinda wouldn't mind this. This is actually a good idea icon14.gif Having the military skills portrayed through out the game.
