ccrogers15
Furby 1998: Furby 2005: Furby 2012: Furby is well known to have been the most successful project at trying to get a fully understanding AI for a robot. Furby 1998 can record your talking and talk back, can understand you, and sing to you. Furby 2005 can sing with you, talk with you. Furby 2012 can dance, sing, talk and engage in full conversations with you and connect to ipod. Does anyone here like Furbys? PS. Vega LVI
My sister used to have a ton of Furbies when they first came out (what was that '97?). I remember the f*cking things used to creep me out. She used to have them in her room, so when me and her would hang out in there, I could always feel them burning a hole in the back of my neck. It got to the point where my brother and I had to hide them in a spot around the house that no one would look. After a while, she just assumed one of our two cats got a hold of them. na89340qv0n34b09q340
My mom loved furbies, but she never had more than like four. My grandmother has one too. I got one for my eighth birthday but I broke it. Here's the one I remember, except it had a white stomach: @Slingaa His picture is way down there, but that one is most definitely the one I remember. Cursed
I had one like this: What the point in them was exactly I'm not sure.
Rebel
f*cking things. I got one as a present when they first came out. At first it was awesome, but then after a week I got sick of it trying to talk to me when I was busy. In the end I took it downstairs and hid it in the under stairs cupboard full of junk. Little did I know that it would last for an entire month or 2 with batteries. It basically ended up talking to itself in the cupboard while you'd be sitting in the living room watching TV. I have to say it was f*cking hilarious hearing it talk/sing and sh*t out of the blue because my mum would freak out.
SmC12
Those damn things used to scare the sh*t out of me when I was younger and they were really popular. My sister had two and the things would just randomly start talking out of nowhere when I least expected it. I'm really suprised people still buy them. Seddo
15 years ago maybe. Pretty annoying when they randomly go off on one during the night time and sh*t you up. Good for throwing at brothers and sisters when they pee'd you off as well. Nice spongey grip but hard enough to hurt when contact was made. Moth
I don't think I ever had one. I do believe my sister had one at one point or another. Didn't really care for them when I was a kid, I remember asking my parents for R/C cars and video games instead. Mike Tequeli
Furby is well known to have been the most successful project at trying to get a fully understanding AI for a robot. Furby 2012 can dance, sing, talk and engage in full conversations with you and connect to ipod. Hardly. The idea that furbies were recording and learning stuff you say is a myth IIRC, it was all a trick, these things aren't anything resembling the most advanced AI. K^2
Never owned one, nor was I ever upset about that fact, but these guys are cute. Especially the original late 90's ones. If I had kids/nieces, I'd probably be tempted to buy these for them. Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns. Vega LVI
I found the exact one my sister had (and of course a few more). Try watching cartoons with your sister, knowing this is directly behind you. I know a lot of my cousins had them when they first came out (girl cousins) and a few girls from school. I guess if I had no option, I would give them to a young girl relative of mine as a birthday present or something (or at least one of them). GTA_stu
My mum got one off my dad for christmas one year, but I never wanted one of them. I remember they brought out some sh*t version for McDonald's happy meals toys, and some kid brought like 5 to school showing off, then had them confiscated. That shut him up. They were pretty creepy though, furbies? More like scarebies! Hurr hurr hurr. I'm sorry.
