An October 2013 release seems more plausible since it would give Rockstar at least a whole year to promote GTA V (with GTA V being their sole focus) They might as well resume the promotions this October and carry it on through the whole of next year. Since Borderlands 2 is coming out I'm willing to believe they'll keep quiet the coming week and we'll see a trailer and/or site update last week of september. Maybe even a release date. The first GTA V trailer had a one week countdown and the first GTA IV trailer had a one month countdown if I'm not mistaken. Maybe the countdown of the second GTA V trailer will start next week?[/color] Only the first trailer of IV had a countdown, the rest were announced ahead of time, but there was no ticking numbers. Essentially, it was: "A new trailer will be released on Nov. 2nd" or something along those lines. Either this coming week or the next, I expect an announcement along these lines that will also reveal the box-art and release date with the possibility of a plot synopsis as well. He will try and justify their reasons for releasing a trailer for a next next generation game 3 YEARS early and always intended to release Sept 2014 on PS4 EXCLUSIVE! Riots will break out in all major cities around the world which will kickstart a revolution against the world managers, and the planet will be turned into one huge music festival with whores & wine flowing through the streets. R* will be so drunk they eventually give in and allow Xbox the chance to have the game. GTAV is released Sept 2014 and they all live happily ever after! They talked about the screenshot week and then added...we'll be back with some more to see. That says screenshots to me and nothing else But we'll see. I agree that people shouldn't look forward to the upcoming week. Friday is Borderlands 2's release (well in Europe it is..US probably a day or two earlier?) They don't want GTA V screenshots or a trailer announcement steal the shine from Borderlands 2. Then again, everybody who really wants the game, has probably pre-ordered it already. But for the folks on the fence.... I find it much more plausible that they release a few new screenshots in the last week of this month, then some more silence for a few days into October and people going 'aw jeez..more waiting?' and then Rockstar announces countdown to second trailer with hopefully a release date. "Some more to see" is a kind of awkward sentence. If it would refer to screenshots, why not just say that? "We'll be back with some more screenshots in a few weeks or so." You wouldn't normally add the 'to see' in there, it's not wrong but just awkward. And you can bet these statements are thoroughly prepared and proof-read before they go out. So that's why I think it may be hinting at something other than screenshots. Not saying that this is the case, mind you. Just that there's more ways to interpret it. (see discussion on previous topics for why). I suspect R* won't want a rough release date to be released in that way (e.g. "GTAV definitely out between Jan - March '13!"), I think they would want to control that announcement - which means they'd have to spill the beans before 7th Oct (I think that's the date of the next call?) I don't hold out much hope for the game coming out this year at this stage, but I do think we'll get a release date in the next couple of weeks. And I can't imagine a release date without further information, so my hunch would be trailer 2 with release date tacked on the end. If I was going to guess a date for when, I would say 27th of this month. Of course, that is subject to the game not having slipped. A lot of people have made a lot out of T2's income forecasts: yes, they have predicted big things for FY13, but that could easily get restated. If the game has slipped into next summer, there is much less pressure for them to release anything before the next earnings call. Most games this console generation from Rockstar were delayed. Most of the games had a release date announcement way before the release so for example GTA IV was announced 17 months before the release date but then it was delayed by 6 months. In the end it took 23 months between the announcement and the release of GTA V. Rockstar (and TakeTwo) want to avoid exactly this. I think we get a release date announcement when it's nealy impossible to delay the game because the development/bugs&glitches-fixing is done. I was in GAME yesterday and there's games coming out like next February and they are on the shelves as pre order now with box art and everything. Given the amount of info we have so far on V and some folks saying a christmas release or a 2012 release, I dont think its gonna happen. Going off the info we have so far I'd say the game is still work in progress with a lot yet to do. Either that or they got technical probs with it. Patrizio Posted September 16, 2012 Share Posted September 16, 2012 We have had so, so many false dawns (self inflicted I admit) that, as negativity has taken over, I can't even fathom a new trailer - particularly as traditionally by Trailer 2 we know a bit about the character and their backstory, which we of course do not currently. I can't see Trailer 2 coming out without a magazine preview first. I hope I'm wrong of course, but the pessimist in me feels we won't see Trailer 2 until late Oct/early Nov like Trailer 1. That 17th date is the only thing I have to base this off of. All I KNOW is that this month will not end without GTA V being talked about BY ROCKSTAR. They will have to open their mouths eventually sometime this month. Shows how much I'm interested. You're correct though. It's in TakeTwos best interest to have all the attention on Borderlands 2 so I don't expect anything this week. I'll stick with the last week in September for more screens and the last week in October for trailer 2. Considering the last screens were posted during the last full week of August.
