kingcs
I respect Snoop because he showed other rappers that it's okay to grow away from a young thug image as you get older. He's also not afraid to experiment with different genre's of music, whether for good or bad. And Pac was a poet and he spoke truth. During his time he was misunderstood, but now people have come to understand what he was talking about. Anyone that says modern hip hop sucks hasn't bothered looking have to agree with you You call this Hip Hop? WTF? You obviously don't know what real Hip Hop is. Go do research on it, you know you're in the right info when you see snoop dog, dr. dre, and tupac. Lolll you sound like one of those guys that go to every Lil Wayne vids to dislike and leave a comment about how wayne killed hip hop you guys are funny and it must suck to limit yourself to one era of music playing the same songs over and over again
Official General
snoop dog is sh*t.just sh*t. he's never written a good song on his own, only piggy backed on other peoples songs. And even then tupac and dr.dre are mediocre at best. Fair enough, that is your own personal, subjective opinion which you are entitled to. But I can't see why would think that - 2Pac, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg are obviously rap legends and they have pretty much re-wrote, re-invented and re-defined the face of West Coast rap/hip hop. Their talents cannot be denied, which is a clear testament to their huge popularity. The legacy those guys have left in rap music, music in general and popular culture is immense and overwhelming. To simply dismiss them as sh*t is very short-sighted and shallow if you ask me. It makes me wonder what kind of rap and hip hop you really appreciate and like. I admit Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre have not made anything of any great significance lately, but to downplay them like that is way of the mark.

Anyway I can see you like all that very, odd alternative stuff in rap, which is all good, but I just you are way off the mark for being so quick to dismiss those 3 great West Coast rap legends. theworldfamous
Lol at people disappointed with the hiphop in IV. I guess they don't know who DJ Premier is. Also what the f*ck would backpacker faves from the 90s do in a game set in 2012 California? Same for Alternative like dynospectrum. That's just as ridiculous. Arran B
The GTA IV classic rap radio station didn't have the right mood for me. It was pretty disappointing how they didn't include 2pac, Eazy-E, N.W.A. etc. In my opinion, they should add in: - We Play Life- Easy-E - Boys N Tha Hood- Eazy-E - f*ck Friendz- 2pac -Trapped- 2pac -Changes- 2pac - 100 miles and running- N.W.A. - Friday- Ice Cube -How to survive in South Central- Ice Cube Pretty much the same artists as Radio Los Santos with other songs. For Modern hip hop they should have artists like Lil Eazy-E, Kendrick Lamar, Tech N9ne, Hopsin, OFWGKTA(Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill them All). Dude, that's frickin blasphemy! The Classics was amazing, and it had one of the best producers/DJs in the world.. Premier! It didn't feature west coast artists because it was supposed to encapsulate Golden Era Hip Hop from New York from the late 80s to mid 90s. But yeah GTA V should have a really good hip hop station. I'm hoping it doesn't feature Tyler the Creator or Lil Wayne and that. Or if it does, just not too much as they're pretty wack .

TBH almost every one of those i dislike, I was simply putting up songs that would more than likley make it due to the time of their creations, artist origins, and Rockstars like of undeground music some of which are here. I hate this gen of hip hop. 3 of the songs you posted are part of my top 20 favorite hiphop songs ever. Infinite being #
golf wang
I think there should be two hip hop stations in V. One would be modern, mainstream rap. Artists like Drake, Tyga, Odd Future, Dom Kennedy, etc. I am aware a lot of hip hop fans don't like these artists, I'm not too fond of them either but if it takes place in modern LA it would only make sense that they would be on the radio. The second should be an exclusively old school west cost hip hop station. Artists should include Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2pac, Eazy E, NWA, Xzibit, Ice Cube, Bone Thugz, Ant Banks, Cypress Hill, DJ Quik, House of Pain, and maybe even some very early hip hop like Zapp and Roger. golf wang
Tell me what you guys think Great selection! Some of my favorites were in there (Some LA Niggaz, Ain't No Fun, I Get Around). The choices you made would really capture the old school west coast feel perfectly with the exception of a couple songs. I'm not saying it's a bad thing though, I like how you added some east coast in there (Naughty by Nature and A Tribe Called Quest) and even something from the south! (Geto boys), it would add a nice little variety to the old school station without deviating too much from the primary style (old school west coast hip hop). Exactly, 2PAC was good, nowhere near the best, if he was alive he would probably go mainstream and doing pop songs, he just didn't had a chance because of his sudden death. Same for Biggie, he was lyrical tyrant, but he also did that ''juice'' song, which is don't get me wrong good, but it was considered as mainstream back in the 90's. For many artists, not just in hip-hop, but other music genres, money is never enough, they want fame, want to be heard and be relevant in music industry(snoop lion anyone), then there is other bigger problem and that's contracts which those artist signs and they must obey to those rules, so they must do wack songs with wack producers other wack rappers, otherwise they would loose everything. People either don't know or reject some good rappers just because they are not famous enough or are not MTV and don't want to sell out and there are many great underground rappers and groups who got more talent and skill than those pop-hop morons like lil wayne, kanye and others. That's why i want to hear those underground rappers because they represent real hip hop, people like Vinnie Paz and whole Army Of The Pharaohs, Sean Price, Ruste Juxx, Sean Strange, La Coka Nostra, Immortal Tehnique, Lord Lhus, Necro,Blaq Poet, Pacewon and money others. But i can only dream about underground rap station, because it is not popular enough for new generation of kids who are thinking that lil wayne is best rapper alive to be in GTA. hayden11
I think its undeniable that there will be some form of hip hop station in V. Although it would be quite unlike GTA to have such out-and-out hits on the playlist (like Still DRE that was posted on the first page). There will probably be appearances from the obvious names, like Jurassic 5 etc. As for the petty debate on the topic of GOAT, its a pointless argument that has no answer... But Rakim has my vote. countrymike84
I do not like rap but I can always change the station. I am more interested in the Latin radio stations in the game. I wish they would focus more on rock music. If you meant that, then.... What the f**k is your problem ?? You did read the OP's thread title right ? "Only click if you like this kind of music". That does not include you because you clearly don't like rap/hip hop music, so there is no reason to post your irrelevant and unwanted comment on here. Rockstar should not be focusing on just rock just for people like you - so just because you love rock music, Rockstar must specially cater for your own needs above everyone else's ? Don't be silly, the whole beauty of GTA soundtracks is that there is something for everyone. You shouldn't even be talking here in the first place, you can always leave ! On topic: They should definitely put a classic, 90s rap radio station in GTA V. The 90s West Coast rap stuff from Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, NWA, MC Eiht, DJ Quik, etc. That would fit in very well with LA theme. I can comment on what ever f*cking thread I want, thank you very much. Now f*ck off.
