Durden Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 For the 1000th+ time, a city can have more than 1 airport. What's so hard to understand about that? Also, haven't you ever played SA? There were airstrips to land in the countryside. Hell, there was even a hanger safehouse that let you land and store planes! Just calm down, do you really think R* would pull a "GENIUS" and include only 1 airport in the game? Of course not. As for airports then I think it's a no-brainer we'll be seeing more than one airport. LAX (LSX) must be in there in some form or other and I'd also assume with an airport that big we'll see large passenger jets (bigger than the Shamal in the trailer). If we have large jets and multiple islands then we could see at least two large airports. There's also a very good chance of a military base if they have one or more fighter jets in the game. NAS North Island located at Naval base Coronado would be a very welcome surprise. Edit: Oh, thanks Choco Taco. I guess the addition of separate islands isn't a definite then. If Tijuana and Mexican border is in the game, we could have one nearby there. If there is a small island off the coast to the west, could have another there. Then we could have similar to in San Andreas with a deserted airfield or some military airbase on the edge of map in the desert. Would be cool if there was a huge aircraft carrier in the game that roams around the edge of the map, you can land on this, maybe for some mission? Personally I find it pointless to have a variety of flyable planes but only one airport. Saints Row 2 and 3 had planes and although flying them was fun, it felt kind of pointless since there was only one airport in the city. San Andreas on the other hand had like 4 different airports if I'm not mistaken. 1 in each of the 3 main cities and 1 in the desert. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Exactly. that accounts for the military and cropduster planes we have seen. And of course they have to put a small replica of LAX in the game. If there is a re-imagined Catalina lsland, Rockstar could put a landing strip there as well, mirroring real life. Maybe Rockstar could even include ultralights, just for fun. To my mind, that would be a realistic alternative to the never-empty jetpack, and would be a leisurely way to fly over the countryside and city just to soak it all in. Plus, ultralights are really used in the So Cal drug smuggling business. And with the ocean plus very likely one or two big lakes in the countryside, a seaplane would be a natural addition. AZAZEL Posted September 17, 2012 Share Posted September 17, 2012 It's probably been said on the previous pages already, but Los Santos will not be an island, much like the city it is based on, it's got lots of coast line, and is surrounded by mountains. There are numerous airports in Los Angeles. Four or five 'major' ones, I believe? Plus loads of smaller airstrips and whatnot. Jump out. Be a boss and jump out/land on street. The small planes like the crobduster can be there to fly around the city and countryside and the fighterjet is there because there is an armybase somewhere in the desert. But the Shamal makes me think. Why is there a private jet? Those planes are for long distances, to go from city to city. I not going to fly a big plane like that just to fly around in circles above Los Santos and countryside. I will use smaller planes because they're more moverable and more fun.
