DukeThunders
Ah this sucks so much. I put my .mp3 files at C:\Users\Myname\AppData\Local\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\User Music I start the game, escape button, audio tab, do a quick scan, full scan but nothing happens. Btw there are 3 other things inside User Music folder.. cpuinfo.txt userfile.dat usertracks.dat Please help
Miro
That's strange. Try to turn Auto Scan ON or at "Independence FM Mode" try to turn it to Shuffle or Sequential. This way, you'll only listen on that radio to your songs and nothing else, like advertisements or something. Here's something that might help you. Play ModesSequential - Plays through audio files as they appear in your folder, can skip songs. Shuffle - Plays through audio files randomly, can skip songs. Radio - Plays through audio files randomly with radio adverts and DJ banter in between tracks, cannot skip songs. If nothing works, try to send me the music file and I'll take a look at it if anything's wrong about it. Dead (Retired)
DukeThunders
I had tried changing to shuffle and sequential. None of them worked. Do you have any email ID? I would like to send a screenshot..
Miro
Hmm, so when you get in a car, and switch to Independence FM you don't get the "On Independence FM, N and B will skip forward and back through your songs" panel at the top left of the screen? It's strange though, are you sure that in the folder which contains the User Music folder is also a savegames folder which actually contains any save files? And a screenshot of what you'd like to send me? You could send me a Personal Message if you'd like, though it'd be better if you'd upload the picture on the forum. To do so, go to imgur, press "Computer" then find and select your screenshot. After that press upload and wait for it to be uploaded. Then, copy paste the URL of the screenshot from Direct Link and paste it on the forum between the IMG tags that will enable the picture in your post. DukeThunders
I did quick scan, full scan. A small popup appeared for a fraction of seconds when I scanned. I had to press ENTER many times to read what was being written.. It said "Scanning please wait" Even in shuffle and sequential, all I hear are the commercials.. Miro
Hmm, it's really strange. Maybe the files are not compatible or something. Can you tell me if this song works? It's Got To Love You. Dead (Retired)
DukeThunders
I added your song, scanned but didn't work. Well, never mind. Thanks for the concern.
V8VANTAGE
A-ha! If you have anything but the latest GTA 4 patch, this is the correct place to put the music files. If you have the latest patch the music needs to be in (C:\Users\(Your Username)\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\User Music) Just a FYI, you don't have to have copies of your music files in this folder, shortcuts do work as well and these only take up a few kb each! Then in game after you click PLAY go into the Options > Audio then do a "complete scan". Once all songs have loaded escape out of that and launch the game. Hope this helps, and good luck
