Raynos
OP. How has it affected me? Well, I cry myself to sleep almost every night... When info comes out, I'm happy as a retired hooker, but when there is an info draught, I am a sad panda. Lately, I've been cutting myself, just to ease the pain. The great pain! I really don't know if I can go on anymore, the heart can only take so much. So, I am very hurt, they could've at least used lube before they f*cked us. Maybe even bought us a drink? They could've at least used a condom.

Raynos
All they need to do is publish a release date, at least then we know it will be out a few months later that the date, after they delay it.... lol. A release date would actually eliminate most of the issues people are having regarding the "disrespect" they receive from Rockstar... or Would it? Release date would be handy, but any fool can see that it'll come out in March 2013. So at the same time, it is kinda pointless. Now, as far as people saying that GTA V will be completely fresh when they play it etc due to very minor tidbits of info being release.. Really.. C'mon, It like every other GTA. You get next to nothing till they approach the release date. Once that date gets close, they open the flood gates and you WILL MOST CERTAINLY get a f*ckload of info, So please.. I'm getting annoyed with hearing the lame statements about the element of surprise, as if Rockstar will continue their silence through to release. As always, Rockstar will make sure that some real "GOOD" surprises will still be kept secret. But most general knowledge things will be revealed and it will appease people. So at the end, We just need to realize that GTA V is no where near it's release date. We can easily assume that we are at least 4-6 months away from our beloved GTA. CookPassBabtridge
Yeah, Raynos pretty much sums it up there. If R* carry on like this until release, they simply wont maximise their sales. Nowhere near. I dont remember being remotely 'spoiled' by any GTA info in the past, its always a more complete experience playing it than looking at trailers or screens. Fanboys will claim they love the silence because it seems 'in vogue'. Just like the whole realism sh*t. Then when R* go the other way, they will claim they loved that all along too. Yeah, all these idiots who keep saying "we don't want to be spoiled" are probably too young to remember the marketing for San Andreas. We got tons of info and screens for that game, along with 3 trailers, and I was far from spoiled. Also, the idiots who keep saying "be patient" are the same dip-sh*ts who were saying the same thing 5 months ago, and would probably say the same f*cking sh*t if this was June 2018 with no info. bash the fash m8s
kj2022
before they released the screenshots, i was a bit pissed. Legendary912
I'm a huge fan of GTA and I'm pissed off with the lack of info. It's Rockstars own fault Max Payne 3 didn't do well in sales because of the GTA V hype. They should've just released the first trailer this year and maybe, we might have had more info. They always reply "We aren't ready to release new info about GTA V please be patient." It's been 10 fricken' months and they've only released 12 screens of the game in the last month or so. I don't understand why they're so silent. If it's there marketing strategy, they're doing a TERRIBLE job.
John The Grudge
It doesn't affect me at all. I can't wait for GTA V. The fact is that Rockstar don't really have much of a public persona. Their leader may be somewhat iconic in the gaming world but they don't really do many interviews or PR. They just beaver away at their games until they're done. They may release the odd batch of screen shots or a couple of trailers but that's it. You people are expecting too much too soon. They haven't even announced the release date yet. I'm sure when it's closer they'll have TV adverts and what not. I just want them to keep doing everything the way they've always done it. Whatever culture they've got going on in those offices long may it continue. The wait may be frustrating but it clearly pays dividends. theworldfamous
spoiled children? rockstar have acted like the spoiled child not the fans, you only have to look at AC3 newsfeed no demanding like rockstar posts ubisoft have gave plenty of info, trailers, game play, everyone is just patiently waiting with a smile anyone who says there not let down when a unrelated GTAV post pops up is chatting sh*te in my view Nope. That's where Ubisoft is making the fatal flaw. They're releasing too much info. When you go to play AC3, you already know what to expect. With GTA V. No-one will know what the game will be like. This element of surprise makes GTA V appear more entising than AC3! 'Nuff Said! Most definitely, the more I see of ACIII the less interested I get. Not because it looks crap but because it is taking away the surprise of discovering things for myself. People say it's different with games, because they're an interactive medium & most of the enjoyment comes from playing the thing. Maybe that's true but all I know is, I got a lot more enjoyment from playing a new game back before the internet existed. When it's a game you know is going to be amazing 'like GTA V', how is showing you stuff from said game before release, going to increase your enjoyment of it? exactly man.. imagine you didn't know about that naval battle thing and you'd encounter it in the game. That would be like WHOA this is awesome! Now, I feel as if it can only disappoint cause it does look rather 'on-railsy' if you know what i mean. GSi
I respect how they go about releasing info on their property, But the problem is, is that no one wants to wait for extreme lengths of time for info like this anymore and it will probably never change, From a fans view yeah excitement for the game when there is info released but over time like this iv found myself not being as excited as I was when the trailer was released, It's probably more to the fact there's no release date yet and that in my opinion kills the excitement for the game. If there had been a release date mentioned, but no screens etc people would be really pumped for any snippet of detail even more and the excitement would be a lot greater because you know when you are going to play it and do those things from what screens are available right now and what we know. I think having no release date mentioned or an idea of what Q for so long has killed the excitement for me. That my view on it.
Zee
Honestly, it deeply annoyed me to the point of pushing me to brink of what it even means to be a GTA fan. I felt lost in life. I could sync up most of my lifes major events to releases of GTA, and it's been far far too long since its been announced to not have a release date. I expected a revolution in gaming for a next Gen GTA, and was given GTA4. It's not abysmal, but it definitely was not a revolution in gaming. next, came the deafening silence. At first, it was sort of fun. I liked the idea of not being completely saturated by info for the next GTA so some of it stays fresh. But they took it too far. Days turnd into weeks, weeks into months, months into years. I was pissed. Really pissed. Life without a GTA to look foward to seemed very sad indeed. I wandered the streets during Genesis, asking myself: Is this really how far its gone? How could they be doing this to us? I remember being 12 in the summer of '02, completely spellbounded by GTAIII, and played it constantly, salivating to play Vice City. I checked every detail, IMed with the early founders of GTAGaming. Watched the trailers all the time, listened to the music. I loved it. I was a Rockstar kid. I talked GTA and only GTA with my friends at school. I went around slapping R* stickers on any surface I could find. I had all the Maps of the cities as posters in my room. Hell, one time I even flew to Miami, FL and walked down Ocean Beach with a blue button up Hawaii T shirt, jeans, white sneakers and an ipod loaded with the VC soundtrack (one of the best vacations of my entire life.) I was engrossed in the films the games were based off, soaking up any I could find. I was a proud member of the Rockstar army. And now....now I was feeling left out in the cold by the people whos games I loved. I felt betrayed, like they just did not care anymore. I was scared. Scared for the future, scared for my job security, scared my favorite game series in the world had fallen victim to what has happened to countless other beloved francishes. But, you know? Even at its darkest, I still held out. Even when info was at its dryest point, and I was mad as hell at the Housers, I still retained a tiny bit of hope, somewhere deep, in the far recesses of my mind, I was still that kid that loved GTA. Things are getting better now, we're getting more info that is slowly trickling out. I'm not as upset at the lack of updates anymore. I'm even starting to enjoy playing GTA4 again. Maybe there is hope for the future. Edited September 14, 2012 by Zee

With all the info that has been released regarding ACIII, the only thing I know about the game is that it takes place during the American Revolution, that you can hunt animals, and that the protag is named Connor and has a f*cking sweet tomahawk. I've seen a bit of the E3 demo so I've seen him swinging through the trees. Otherwise, I couldn't tell you another damn thing about the game. This is because I've gleaned all the information I WANT to know about ACIII. Sure, there's a ton more info and I could see more if I choose to, but personally I agree with you about wanting a surprise with some of the new features. R*, on the other hand, has taken away that choice from fans. The only info I want about GTAV is a little more backstory to the protag(s), maybe a list of some of the new weaponry, and a release date. Whether R* releases every detail about the game, I will still only look for these details. TL;DR: Ubisoft gave fans a choice of how much they would like to learn about ACIII, R* is dangling a carrot in front of everyone and is expecting people to follow blindly towards it with no real intention of letting us have it as of yet. meson1
I'm not annoyed at all. In fact I'm quite chilled about the whole thing. I've been playing games for 30 years and one thing I've learned is things will happen when they happen. There's always lots of other things to do, something to read, something else to play, something to program, go down the pub, watch the football, go on vacation, work to do, etc. etc. I've got an endless number of interests and things to occupy me. The silence is what it is. The marketing thus far is what it is. I just don't find it frustrating or boring at all.
