Speedometer and handling.dat

Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but the max speed listed in the handling.dat files and displayed on the speedometer just doesn't seem correct.

 

The police cruiser has a top speed of 140kmph?

 

Surely that can't be.

Also, traveling at 100kmph seems to be overley fast.

 

I have a feeling that the handling.dat file has values in mph rather than kmph.

 

This would make the most sense, making the top speed of the crown Vic police cruiser around 200kmph.

 

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Can't you do a test on a straight? Pause game with car at terminal speed, check distance driven. Unpause and run for five seconds. Pause and check distance driven.
