packardcaribien
Do like La Noire and have the last vehicle you drove (or the last two) stay where it is, marked with a little vehicle icon on the map. And if you finish a mission, it shows up parked across the street. That's interesting because that game is new so it could be a feature we see in GTA. The problem is with that game was that you were a police officer so you are only expected to drive one car. Not go around stealing cars and doing whatever the hell you want. Therefore is was a good idea to mark it on the map and bring realism to the game; since it's on the map you're more likely to stick with that car. I just want them to let us use cars we keep at safehouses. If I've saved a car then i want to be able to use it and still have it after a mission instead of fearing it disappears. No point saving a car if it's just going to disappear when I use it. Actually, LA Noire saved any vehicle like that, whether it was a stolen vehicle or your police car. I used to drive the unique Town & Country convertible throughout the story line. So it could apply just as well to GTA, because it lets people keep one car but doesn't really punish the people who burn through them and change cars all the time. I feel you, I tried pretend I owned a car through GTA IV, and it's pretty much impossible to keep it. I miss my silver Merit.
sddales
This topic is great. This issue is hands down my biggest gripe with GTA IV. I always like the feeling of having that one car that identifies you and yet if I want to keep the car I can never take it on missions. The L.A. Noire system is tops. I hope they bring it to GTA V. It completely solves the problem. That coupled with some light car customization and maybe purchasing cars (ala San Andreas) and I'd be one very happy camper. Nero1024
Why not pay a visit to the local impound to retrieve your vehicles that have magically disappeared?
azali10
Or they should just make your car NOT dissapear? And your car should be saved to your garage and spawn there at will.
JoeJoeMcTwist
I think your car should stay there until you pick up another one. Forget payed parking, too much tedium in that
dooshtoomun
I like that method. Yeah people may be talking about paying for parking be annoyingly realistic, but it's a pretty good idea when it comes to keeping your car safe.
the nameless
I would go for this, if there was no ineraction with the meter. Just park in the designated zone and when you get out and leave the zone, your money gets deducted a set price. This would be an excellent feature I think. Walking up to the meter, pressing buttons and choosing times etc would be overkill for me.
saintsrow
I agree with the concept that pay parking would be a way to save cars you want to keep. This would be nearly essential if we have customized cars (which I hope we do). You could just pay once, or pay automatically as noted above, and not have to go back to feed the meter. I could certainly make a self-created minigame out of purposely not paying the parking meter, and then waiting around and seeing how many meter-maid golf carts I can take out with my RPG, as they come around periodically to put a ticket on the car. There could could be a statistic for total parking fines accumulated. And there could be a simple impound mechanism and penalty to recover a car, as was mentioned above. Sgt. Foley
Sorry about bumping, just wanted to say what I think. I think we should not 'pay' but I think the game should remember where the car was parked. So many times my cars just disapear out of no where... it gets me very angry. BTW, why do you call your cars 'sexy'? It sounds weird...
w4rr1or_44
I think just having parking garages around the city would be fine... downtown, near airports etc... works the same way as the toll booths in gta iv... you go in park your car (npc cars parked in as well) walk out come back X amount of time later to pick up vehicle *or stolen vehicle* as you drive to the exit... you are billed for your time in the garage... give a good element of surprise to it by adding npc vehicles that may cost more to remove from the garage... I Luke
If I park a car and go "exploring", I usually lose sight or totally forget where it is. I think it's pointless. However, I do think they need some sort of system because I like to pull out a car from my garage or parking spot which is usually a nice decent vehicle, I drive to a mission and end up losing it and it's so annoying because i'd rather not drive a slow sh*tty car around all the time. LuisNikoJohnnyIV123
yeah id like that but 2 game hours is two minutes so it would have to have different scale
