meson1
As for "Bullet" can anyone confirm if this was used in IV? Without doing any research on it, I can only assume it handles the shooting physics. I pretty sure but could be wrong, but as I said in earlier post, RAGE is used for driving and environment physics. Bullet was definitely used in IV. It was part of GTA:IVs publicity at the time. I understand it handles much more than just the shooting. I'm fairly certain that it does all the soft body deformations for the vehicle collisions (but I can't find where I read that). But I'm sure it does much more than that for GTA:IV. But as I say, I'm struggling to find the links to what I originally read. Having a scout around today though, I did find this; a forum post in response to a question asking in what titles Bullet was used: In most cases, a non-disclosure agreement prevents sharing this information. ... As an exception, we are allowed to mention that some parts of Bullet have been co-developed and optimized with Rockstar and merged into their Rage game engine, used on XBox 360, PC and PLAYSTATION 3 in Midnight Club: Los Angeles and Grand Theft Auto 4. Rockstar having participated in developing the Bullet Physics Library and the fact that they incorporated it into RAGE.
