dylkay
Now before you rule this out as one more "car customization returning" topics hear me out. I think I may have spotted something that could confirm it! If you look closely at the red infernus screenshot you can see that the rims of the car stick out slightly. I believe these are spinners! At least I hope so or the detail in the game is poorly done. As you can see the rim comes out a noticeable amount. Now even if it's not spinners, and I'm just looking into it way too closely, it could also just be new rims put on the car! Even look at the roof and front bumper; they definitely don't look stock to me. The roof seems to have a scoop and the front bumper looks added on. Now I didn't make this topic with just those observations but also the fact that this screenshot come out in the "business" bundle of screenshots. Now what business would this be if it wasn't some sort of "deliver a custom car to a buyer" type of business? It seems very possible imo and also a fun side mission; making/stealing tricked out cars and selling them for big bucks. V is supposed to revolve around the almighty dollar, right? What are you guy's opinion on this? Maybe I'm just looking for things to discuss now. Prometheus
I don't think that hints at customization. It is almost identical to the IV version of the vehicle.
JRZ
Imagine that, spinners on a Lambo I thought it was probably just a mismatch between the width of the rim and the tire, which could still mean the same thing regarding customization. On a related note, tire stretching is "in" now. Not sure why...
Mig10
The most interesting bit on that pic is the detail on the heli and the police AI.
AZAZEL
I don't think that hints at customization. It is almost identical to the IV version of the vehicle. Yeah, almost. The only change as far as I can tell, being the new wheels. But this is indeed the only and even just remotely valid indication that we might see some sort of vehicle customization in V. There's a just as large, or even larger, chance of it just being an updated version of the Infernus, which looks like that in all situations, or maybe they have added a few different rims to the Infernus' spawn rotation. Adriaan
Didn't the vehicles in GTAIV also have variations? Some vehicles would spawn with a different piece, or an additive piece... So yeah IV sort of had mini customization, but only chosen by the CPU - not by the user (unless you used mods).
John The Grudge
I have to be honest. Now I should say that I utterly hate Saints Row The Third. I think the customisation added nothing to that game. It has to be done right, and it has to reflect the various modifying scenes. So far no open world game or arcade racer has even come close to doing that. If it isn't done right then it'll just be a boring and pointless waste of time. So for unique cars GTA IV>SR3. theworldfamous
That looks like a stock infernus to me. They updated the wheels and it looks better because of the reflections and lighting being better. I haven't seen any car so far that looked anything other than stock, or anything else that would indicate car customization is back.. I think that shot is just about stealing cars, perhaps from the trailer in the other shot.
the nameless
Looking at that, yes it does look like they bulge outwards. Wheather this indicates the inclusion of customisation, I don't know. It doesn't look like spinners to me, some alloys are countersunk: while others bulge out: All that says to me is that the wheels on the infernus have been designed differently - somehow they always seem to be able to make wheels look better each time, even on the same engines. I thought they were the same rims, only viewed from a different angle. Looking at it more, it's definitely different. But as Adriaan said, IV had different "versions"/customizations of the vehicle, randomly spawned. This could be the case here too, since there is no major customization in the vehicle's body.
