It's employees focus on making that product the best it can be utilizing all the resources at their disposal. Now, apple already has a 10 year plan of what its gonna sell you each year. They have very advanced technology that your not gonna see for years. They would rather milk the market slowly and release minimalistic updates each year than innovate. Why? because they can. Their marketing has a mass amount of followers by the balls. They are really business smart in that sense. Any time I hear anything about apple I take a look at it, say "uh huh" and move on. And the popular opinion is that its pretty much the same thing as the 4/4S. There is a bigger screen, its lighter, slimmer, and has a new OS but thats about it. There really isnt anyhting awe inspiring about this device other than the hardware. So that got me thinking. what if GTA V turned out like this. WHAT IF GTA V was just a bigger/prettier version of GTA IV. It isnt really a bold new direction. They dont add things like custimizing weapons, car mods, businesses, real estate, economic events, detailed side missions, awesome mini games, and so on and so forth. Im not saying it will happen but WHAT IF it did. What do you think the chances are of this happening? How would you feel if this happened? Are there any features you feel must be included that werent in IV? This is not an iPhone thread. Keep it on topic and try to avoid arguing about the phone. That's all I'm hoping for. The big difference between the iPhone analogy and GTA is I still use my iPhone everyday. I rarely play IV and I get bored really quickly. All R* needs to do during a generation is change the location, characters, and story for each new GTA. Graphical upgrades are a bonus and added features are expected, but not really required. For example: III brought the whole "WTF I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT TO!" to the video game industry; Vice City is, in my opinion, the single best period piece anywhere out there; San Andreas took what everyone thought was possible with video games/technology of the time and pounded it into the ground, smoked a cig, took its purse, and didn't call back; while IV wasn't as groundbreaking as its predecessors, it did introduce some awe-inducing physics and an incredible amount of NPC scripts. Now -- tell me the last time apple actually did something innovative, and not just grabbed something that already existed, put their logo on it, tripled the price disproportionally to the quality/service, and sold it like hotcakes. Ipod? MP3s already existed since late 98. Ipad? Microsoft made a tablet device back in the early 2000s. Modern macs? Take a PC, strip it down, put an apple on the back, double the price. Triple Vacuum Seal Posted September 13, 2012 Share Posted September 13, 2012 Though Apple is a much more respected company than R* due to it's recent record of entrepreneurial and technological innovation, it should be clear that R* is better at making GTA than Apple is at making iPhones. Apple's phone is no better than some of the competition's. They've just built a solid brand around their product that people are willing to pay for (brand is more solid than the actual product). There are more Apple fans than the iPhone fans. In R*'s case, their brand is less valuable than the GTA product. So no. GTAV will not disappoint as much as the iPhone 5 because GTA relies on substance more so than it's title in order to break sales records. This. People try too hard with the Apple hate. If you want cheaper products, don't buy Apple, but I don't understand why people hate Apple so much. I'm typing this on my iPad right now and this thing is amazing. I'm sure other phones and tablets are great as well, but they only exist in their current form because Apple continues to take the tech to the next level. Why not assume that's how it'll be from the get-go? V is using the same game engine as IV, so naturally the game will function much the same way. I'm sure the engine has been tweaked and improved, but still. V will be a sequel to IV the same way Vice City was to III. That's fairly true, however i still don't like Apple because of their greed, yes they are a company, but they're worse than others. If Apple had it their way they would have designed the iphone and at this point in time we would still be using a 3g spec phone. They only revolutionize to make loads of money, then they just milk as much as possible out of it, if it weren't for other companies making similar products and forcing Apples hand we would be way back in time still. Why do you think they sued Samsing, and only Samsung? Because they are forcing Apple to play fair and happen to be the biggest rival so they are going to bite into their Apple an take some of the money they are losing because they rip people off when other companies provide something better for less. I dislike Apple mainly for three reasons: they rip people off, they have zero morals, and they take credit where it is not due. Let's take a PC and a Mac of the same exact specs (retail; pre-built). The mac is severely limited in terms of software capability and customization/part replacement when compared to the PC, and yet it costs more than double the price of the latter. Same really goes with phones/MP3 players. As far as morals go: Jobs was an utter and complete dick. Just google some of the things the man did. Apple itself is a chip of the ol' block. They sue their competitors like crazy; take, for example, the recent Samsung case. Ever heard of the suicide nets? And lastly: Apple has not "innovated" or come out with anything original in decades. Every single product people think Apple "invented" that was put on sale in the last 12 years had already been in the market prior to their respective release. Every single one of them. The reason why people think Apple "innovated" goes back to the company not being a computer/device manufacturer, but rather a fashion accessory vendor. Monkey see, monkey do. You may make a case that Apple improved upon the original designs, but that's standard protocol for every single company entering a market; Samsung won't enter the automobile market by selling exact replicas of Toyota, they will improve upon existing designs. I only used apple products for Garage Band and Pro Tools, but after seeing the iPhone 5, i'm gonna get one. the iPhone is the only thing we could compare GTA too, but it's a bit more predictable, though it looks the same on the outside, it can still make you gasp in awe at what the phone itself can do. you can't judge something like an iPhone purely on the outside, it's like judging a GTA game purely on the graphics, it's stupid. Rockstar also stated it was their biggest open world game yet.. 4.Rockstar are not stupid 5. No gta game has ever flopped [ atleast any rockstar game] .
