Who else misses the old ww2 Call of Duties?

I was just thinking about the older ones like Big Red One and Call of Duty 3, and realized how much I really miss the setting of WW2. Those games were so emotional and had a great story to them. I do enjoy the modern warfare games, but wish that they would go back to WW2 and that WW2 games would make a comeback in general. What do you guys think? Post below!

To answer your question, I don't miss any of Call Of Duties - Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is much better than that piece of sh*t.

Don't miss them at all, I'm glad there's less world war 2 games these days. I enjoyed COD1 and WaW but the other WW2 call of duty games were rubbish imo.

I think that there was a few good WW2 games, bu not WaW.

 

At the time, I loved Medal of Honour: Rising Sun, that was so bloody epic.

I remember one battle in it called Singapore Sling, my favourite. I had awesome memories playing that years ago.

They were all of the same caliber in terms of story quality, which is to say they were all sh*t. Fun in terms of gameplay but lackluster in their story-writing. I don't miss the WWII setting at all since it's been done to death in the shooter genre.

That's true, but I still wouldn't want a return to WWII. Black Ops had my favorite setting out of all the CoD games, and it's story was pretty good. It's a shame we won't be returning to the Cold War anymore.

Same here, Black Ops is my favourite Call Of Duty, the setting was great, there was actually some greenery.

Yeah i made a topic about this a year ago. I miss this the old Call of Duties as well and with the technology now, Infinity Ward could've made an amazingly graphic ww2 game but they chose to go the other way (There last one was COD)

I think COD will return to the WWII thema in the near future. Don't think they can continue making sequels to games like Modern Warfare and Black Ops too long. Well, I guess no matter what the games are about, people will still buy them anyway.
