The usual,

Races (cars, motorcycles, triathalons), random encounters that lead to getting paid, buying (and perhaps selling) businesses, robbing establishments (either by ones self at random or perhaps it'll be an option when you call a friend, as opposed to f*cking bowling), gambling, maybe cash rewards for reaching certain milestones (i.e. find all hidden items), odd jobs (vigilante, ambulance, taxi, fire truck, etc), rampages, maybe something more specific based on character relationships (I'm thinking of betting on lowrider competitions as in SA).

there's a lot of cool things to do in GTA to earn money, GTAV will have plenty I'm sure.

Triple Vacuum Seal

I still strongly believe that a GTA including an extensive illicit manufacturing/trafficking/distributing/selling system (ex: marijuana from crop management to wholesale, cocaine distribution, meth from super lab management to wholesale, weapons trafficking from the engineering of weapons to wholesale, etc.) would be highly beneficial to the quality of the series.

Being a loan shark would be cool. You can purchase a small store and have people come in to borrow money between $250 and $25.000 with an interest of 10%. Your customers will have a a few weeks or a few months (in game time) to pay back. If they're late with the payment you can track them down and either kill them and steal their valuables (cars, watches etc, to sell at the black market) or you can break their fingers and increase their debt by another 5% for every day they avoid paying back.

After a while when your business gains respect and recognition you can loan up to $100.000 and hire some trusted people to do the dirty work for you so you can just sit back and relax while the money keeps coming in. People will not bail out of a payment as your reputation of being ruthless grows larger.

Being able to join some kind of mercenary air force and doing air strikes on their targets and getting paid a lot of money to do it.

That and/or airline pilot. As long as I get to fly something.

Not everything belongs in your precious topic dear friend.

OT, Investments would be great for the economical standpoint of GTAV. If Rockstar wants to take it to a whole new level money laundering would be absolutely terrific. Groundbreaking as well.

Whichever venues they choose, I hope they'll follow common logic. Ex:

- drug dealing; this one if done at all should be done right. Throwing packets around is simply not enough:

-- you should have the option to sell on the street corners for maximum profit and risk. Later you get to sell larger amounts to smaller drug dealers for less profit, but of course a lot faster to unload

-- you should have the option to purchase drugs from smaller dealers first and bigger drug lords later. As you move up, your previous sellers become your customers and this gives you the opportunity to visit off map areas

-- killing people for drugs should be doable as well, but it would bring in penalties like a negative impact on relations with other dealers in the region

-- busting out due to raids; if you purchase a large quantity of drugs you need to find/rent a place where you can store it, but every place has some probability cops will find about it, so you stand to lose big

-- opposing gangs should be able to steal from you, bringing in more risk. Of course I wouldn't want any of this to turn into SA style gang wars, where you have to run to the opposing part of the city every twenty minutes to handle a gang attack; those were quite annoying and far too frequent, a better way to handle it would be to have only a couple points you need to defend and less frequent incoming attacks, like every 7 in-game days

- racketeering; you start with some local shops and move out into opposing gang areas. This would provide a healthy amount of both income and conflict, with some occasional side missions

-- new rackets would usually require you to complete some tasks first so that you can take over, something we have seen already

-- losing rackets should be an option, but also upgrade and expansion

- money laundering; if bigger cash flows will be possible, this should definitively be an issue, storing cash on safe places could really become an interesting side game. This would require a major overhaul of the monetary system, so I don't know if it would fit

Algonquin Assassin

Counterfeiting. I wonder why this has never been explored? In VC there was the printworks as an asset, but it wasn't really deep.

I always think of Beverly Hills Cop 3 when I think of this lol.

Nice.

Couple of points; say one for drug dealing and another for weapons. I'd also add having 'employees' to defend these areas and having to pay them a salary. So you don't have to rush here and there to defend it yourself.

Earning Income is certainly attractive, spending and risk of losing considerable amount of money is even more.

Triple Vacuum Seal

Being a big time arms dealer would be nice (for one of the members of the crew if the multiple protags theory turns to be true). Like a set of missions with an ambitious alcoholic partner who lives in the mountain's rural parts. Maybe you both work your way up...

1- starting out as small time dealers of stolen pistols, hunting rifles, and shotguns from homes, pawnshops, and stash-houses you rob using the little resources you invested.

2- then move up to selling law enforcement-grade small arms (pistols, shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and RPGs) to local gangs using your partner's military connects.

3- then you move up to selling military-grade small arms to gangs and other parties state-wide using your now stronger military connections.

4- you then use your connection and resources to legitimize into a regional supplier (by national standards) of arms to regional parties (including the LS and "surrounding areas" police departments, thus controlling the arms in GTAV)

5- you then just become the majority holder of shares and receive top dollar dividends once a month (like the assets paying out in VC) completing the mission set and rewarding you with top of the line weapons.

I really like that idea. That would be awsome. A buisness that makes money, and can turn into missions.
