noobtom
One of the first things I am going to do I get GTA V is go back to the hood..I'm really curious to see what R* has changed in Grove.st. If CJ's mom's house is not there I will be very sad. Can we expect to see Grove St Families make a return? and that San Fierro gang of Wuzi ? What do you all think brahs Edited September 12, 2012 by noobtom
JoeJoeMcTwist
I hope theres a dead end street beside a highway resembling grove street. They gotta pay some tribute to the classics. Kinda like Salvatore's old abandoned house in GTA IV

V Done..i guess we can rule out gangs from san andreas returning to V what about the map (los santos)? what will modern day grove st look like? O_O It's not that bad, buck up. There will be new street gangs and Ganton for sure, R* won't disappoint SA fans.
H. León
I hope there are a bunch of Easter eggs, in SA there where a bunch, I hope we can see like, I dunno, like a old green sabre in an alley or something.
rixsta
A lot of people always bring up the "old characters cant come in new worlds" but the fact is, A Street isnt a character, its not a protag. The street plays the same part as lazlow, its existence is purely for "nostalgia" which is why i believe that GTA V will pay a homage to Grove St and/or the "Family"
Mainland Marauder
Just like there was no Saint Mark's in IV Liberty City, I expect a similarly reinvented Los Santos and few if any references to the old SA. Now, we'll certainly get locations based on the same real-life ones as Ganton, Idlewood etc. were. If it's LA, there's going to be hood. Bear in mind of course we'll be in the current day and not 1992. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be." Acehilm
I don't think 'Grove Street'- not THE Grove Street. They might have a few culde-sacs as it is based off Los Angeles afterall.
thestoneman420
It would put a smile on my face to drive down a somewhat 'familiar' culde-sac and look at the street name change to 'Grove St.' in the corner of the screen. I could live without it though.
grandola
They'll probably have ganton as a neighborhood but 50/50 on if they drop the culdasack(sp
ccrogers15
Im gonna laugh if grove street was destroyed by a real estate dev and built a skyscraper on top.
Nun0567
I though at this point everyone knew that V will be based in today's California. It will not be gang based like SA was. We will most likely have some sort of easter egg about Groove Street tho.
GTAknowledge
I'm pretty sure the actual street Grove Street was modelled from is still there today. So i'd expect Grove Street to appear in V, especially since SA was the most popular GTA game ever created.
Dick Justice
I hope not. If only for the sake of letting sleeping dogs die. San Andreas was great for it's time and most fans hold very strong opinions that it is the best in the series (I disagree because I felt it was too spread out, but I digress). I would not be opposed to a small easter egg, such as the mansion in IV, but to just come out and have the same street and neighbourhood remodelled in a new engine seems lazy. What Rockstar can do instead is create an area with a very similar vibe and feel to Ganton, most likely based off Compton, which should in turn bring back the memories for us hardcore GTA players rather than trying to force it in there. Pyrrhic
Just like there was no Saint Mark's in IV Liberty City... Although there were some references in the game to the previous GTA era. One example is the old abandoned mansion in northern Alderney referencing Salvatore's Gentleman's Club and the downfall of the Leone Family post-2001. Both destinations were at similar locations of their respective islands. I hope, and I think there will be, a sort of 'Easter egg' of Grove Street in the newest game, most likely a small cul-de-sac in a similar area in relation to the map and possible and old dirty street sign to have a look at. I'd prefer it if they left it out of the storyline though. Edited September 12, 2012 by lzw3

I agree with this, i would like it as an Easter Egg in a similar sort of suburb, just to drive past and smile a little in remembrance, that game holds boatloads of nostalgia for me. I think the section in the trailer with the "For Sale" sign looks like Grove Street.
YukiEiri
I think the section in the trailer with the "For Sale" sign looks like Grove Street. I got the same feeling from that scene as well. Especially with the big "hospital" glooming in the background about the same area where the hospital was in SA.
Luk38644
GTA V will be a modern regeneration of modern SoCal... Whther that includes Grove St or not, im not sure. I hope it is for the memories, and isnt it based on a real life street? But if it isnt, its the same as GTA IV, i can live without it and probably wont link the cities at all, in fact the classics, should probably stay the classics. BTW, Why is everyone saying that mansion in GTA IV was salvatore's? It looks nothing like it, it not even similar in anyway.
Complex Synthesis
Of course everyone will live without it. But would be nice to see it as an eater egg

We're not stupid. We know it's not Salvatore's but it is a clear reference the the Gentleman's Club with it being a mansion and also with it being at the North-East end of its respective island, being Portland in GTA III and Alderney in GTA IV. It's pretty obvious when you think about it.

Kifflom112
Why do people want so badly for a sh*tty suburban cul de sac to return? We don't need it, just put in an easter egg and I won't mind, but what is the big deal with this ghetto-fabulous street full of dumb never passed 3rd grade hoodlums? Because like people have said... It would be a good Easter Egg! It would be good to visit again and see how its changed, have the 'dumb hoodlums' that never passed 'third grade' moved out? have the houses been renovated? have the houses got worse? is there plans to demolish the whole street? It would be interesting to see what it is like...

stevechilds
Exactly it brings back the memories the nostalgia.I take it some of you sour posters remain jealous. But then again I guess it is easy to judge an insult people for very little reason.ow back on topic I do expect the area to have newer build social projects gridded around. I expect a modern day ganton to be based on "the jungle" in the movie training day.
