Storm Slider
What I'm looking for is first hand experience/ a list of parts that I'm going to need to buy. Be realistic. I plan on 800$ since this s going to be specifically for GTA IV Dont be shy! GTA is optimized for nVidia, and also, Intel CPU's are also more efficient, performance and power consuming wise. I'll just list the main parts that will effect the game performance the most... CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-2500K-Quad-.../dp/B004EBUXHQ/ Since GTA IV is a CPU-intensive game, I'd recommend overclocking it to 4.5GHz. If you choose to do so, you must get another cooler: CPU-cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835103099 Since the GTA series is more optimized for nVidia, I recommend a nVidia GPU - Any one of these will work. GPU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?...N82E16814127699 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?...N82E16814127696 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?...N82E16814127685 From least performance to most. GTALegacy
You don't need to over clock to 4.5 GHz. I play GTA IV with an i7 920 @ 3.3 GHz and it's fine. You also don't need to put every single slider at 100, either. It's a waste of CPU cycles that could go to other things like rendering more (faster) FPS that have to be pushed to the GPU... Like I said, it's optional if he's aiming towards more performance.
