I say things that aren't very "popular". At least I can come to terms with it. The Fans of the So-Called "4 Era" generation GTA's cannot seem to come out of the trance in which they are stuck in. In regards to the whole over-haul of the Liberty City blueprint. (Map) This is all fine. But dont tell me that game is better than the originals because of some graphics. They completely eradicated all these problems in Red Dead Redemption, which to this day is still one of the best current gen games. They've also got advanced shooting mechanics/physics from Max Payne 3 so we can expect GTA V to live up to its expectations. Give this man a medal. Giving him a medal because he thinks that GTAIV ducked? No. But about the other part like IV being the first next gen GTA and so, yeah he is right. But GTA V will be bold and new, it will be operated in a much stronger hardware, therefore making the game visually impressive (good graphics) and with a vast gameplay. III for it's time is better than any game that has ever been made IMO. The first time I played it, it was like playing the game you'd always hoped & dreamed would one day be possible & there I was, playing the f*cking dream. Having said that, I would have a hard time drawing any pleasure playing it again today. I fired up VCS on my PSP for a laugh & I just couldn't derive an ounce of fun from the gameplay. León Posted September 11, 2012 Share Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Yes, III was the "best" GTA game, but because of the time it was done, for 1999-2001, it was like the best game ever, was the first one wich gave the player "real" freedom, being a big map back then, it was revolutionary, the first one ever (3D GTA), but we are not talking about time, it's about quality, and yes, obviously V will have more quality than III had. My whole point "back then" was to convey how I felt the 3 Era (as they are so called) felt better and Best represented what a GTA game is all about. Such as: Vice City and III. IV tarnished that with (what I believe) to be a mis-representation of Liberty City which now looks like NYC. And I'm sure they will do it to Vice as well. I remember putting in GTAIII and just being floored at what R* had accomplished. Once that feeling happens, you never quite experience it the same way. I look at GTAIV as a massive experiment on R*'s part to begin developing some seriously industry-changing gameplay mechanics. And like with any new ideas, there's going to be some unanticipated weak spots that have to be reworked. You can see this happen with the development of EFLC, RDR, LA Noire and MP3 afterwards; each game successively adds more enjoyable gameplay elements within the RAGE and Euphoria limits, and takes away and/or refurbishes various elements and mechanics that weren't working so well. I'm thinking that GTAV (and any related DLC) will be the pinnacle of this generation of gaming and will be a perfect sendoff for R* to leave this gen of hardware behind and make there way to even more powerful resources. Even back in the original GTA - but I'm assuming you've opted for speaking the cause of III, because you were a mere five years old when the first rendition of the city was all the rage. I'm a nostalgic guy, and I loved the III-era, much like I loved GTA2 before that. I loved IV, and I'm probably going to love V. I'm a fan boy, but one that knows how to let go, I guess. They are all dead and gone - there is only V for me. I remember putting in GTAIII and just being floored at what R* had accomplished.
