why people don't like Gangsta theme for GTA V?

I got to agree with some of the people. The mafia theme is overused and we need something else. The gangsta theme was good for the 90's but for the modern days it will suck.

Lol. Because "gangsta's" are so much better than the mafia? Trust me, I don't care for either and both are overdone but if I had a choice just between the two I would rather play the mafia. I am sorry but I just don't find ghetto gangbangers interesting or appealing. I do not care for them and IMO I think most of them are scum. I didn't like the gangbanger aspect in SA. What saved it for me were the gameplay features and the fact that CJ was an alright character.

 

Do some of you actually think that being a "gangsta" is cool? Because acting/talking like an uneducated twat/doing drivebys' and selling drugs etc is so amazing huh? Don't tell me gangs do not do any of this, wtf else do they do? Charity work?

 

Not for me. But to each their own. The only thing missing from this discussion is someone coming in and calling those against playing a "gangsta" racist like so many other times this discussion came up.

 

As a few others have said, what I want for V is to play someone outside the mafia and gangs.

Is it that all of the gangster are uneducated and dumb or is it how they are perceived . Just like mafia guys are perceived as wise because they wear suits are all of them smart. They are Both criminal and are not restricted to a certain type of clothing. Criminals on both sides wears suits at some point. I would prefer to play as a guy starting my own organization. But those whining about a gangsta game compared to the mafia theme games saying they are played out is utter absurdity. Just because a person talks slang in the streets does not mean they cant speak intelligently.

What I should have further added is that I think all criminals are scum no matter what they wear or how they talk. It's just degrees of how bad/uncivilized they are and IMO gangbangers are worse than the mafia on that scale and btw I went to a high school that had a number of these so-called gangstas and guess what? Not a single of them was able to speak intelligently aside from use slang. These were the people that would fail every single class because they simply didn't "care" or chose not to attend.

 

If I was an intelligent human-being no way in hell would I freely choose to become a gangsta. I have known (although not well) innocent people that have died as a result of these stupid gangs. I am not talking about kids/people that pretend to be gangstas to appear cool/for their friends but legit gangstas' that jump people, kill people, deal drugs etc. Yeah the mafia isn't exactly innocent but as far as I know (correct me please if I am wrong) they don't harm innocent people as much as these gangsta's do and mainly stick to murdering each other. Gangs are the same but they don't seem to have any qualms about harming innocents.

The city I live in, there was a shooting in a mall this summer (Eaton Centre) and it was an idiot gangbanger who came to find another retard gangbanger to prove how much balls he has and shot up the entire goddamn mall while trying to hit his target. f*cker killed a few innocent people and I am pretty sure a child died - don't remember for sure but I know a child was injured. A pregnant woman was injured, too. That to me is pure scum.

If you feel so strongly about all of this, then you really shouldn't be playing a game like GTA. I'm not saying you have to be a worshiper and lover of gangsters and their world to play GTA, but most people who play GTA do have some kind of fascination with and are in awe of it all. When it comes to really bad and brutal stuff that gangsters do, it's all the same to me, whether its a street gang member wearing a bandana, with saggy jeans and a hooded top with Timbs, or some cigar-smoking Mafioso in a dark, smart suit, with shiny black shoes and shades. Street gangs or Mafia it essentially boils down to the same thing, it's all classed as organized crime - a bunch of criminals grouping and working together in an organized way to commit crimes, illegal activities and kill people for the sole purpose of making money, earning wealth and power. It is all the same. The Mafia, Irish, Jewish Mobs and others have killed many innocent people in their wild gunfights during their many gang wars in the past, especially during Prohibition. There is no difference about doing it back then and street gangs doing it now. Yes the Mafia and other mobs in America have long cooled down the violence, but they were once reckless violent, homicidal maniacs themselves. You know anything about the Mafia in Sicily ? - those guys killed anyone, they blew up or shot and killed anyone in their way - politicians, judges, rival Mafiosi, rival's Mafiosi relatives and extended relatives - and they killed women and children many times, not by accident, but purposely and on the direct orders of Mafia bosses. Read it, it's all there.

 

I'm sorry you lost family members to gangs and you have a personal grudge against them, but at the end of the day, you just can't go around saying "the two crime groups are both bad and kill people, but one does it in a nicer way and appears more civilized". To me, that is bullsh*t, no disrespect. GTA is about organized crime and that includes the whole spectrum of organized crime. If someone has a problem or strong issue with any certain crime group being in GTA then they really should not be playing the game, this always been about gangs, Mafia the whole lot of them. I cannot see why people have such strong opinions on this subject but yet still play GTA, it's so strange.

He should learn to shoot or if he hadn't balls and weapon handling so to say, he could just quit, but those kind of people are danger for others. But we are talking here about protagonist being a street smart gang member who is well trained or have strong experience with firearms, not some moron who hit anything but his target.

And it sounds like I have hit a nerve with you based on my views on this so best to end this right here.
