GTAV Railway System

Two things I want in regard to trains:

1. Change tracks

2. On a subway train, walk straight on the train with no cutscene and be a or to walk around it.

r0eladn if you had any understanding on interests you would know that as humans we all have different interests and some people find one thing more appealing/entertaining than others. If you don't like something, fair enough, no one needs to convince you to like something you don't like.

To sort of further explain what I'm trying to say, just take a look at this video:

that was to funny biggrin.gificon14.gificon14.gif

Trains will be in V, says common sense. I hope we can use cranes and load stuff on them, maybe even vehicles, but definitely crates and all that. Then we should be able to take off in it and derail that mother and sit back and watch as people run for their lives! GTA IV trains sucked like many things in IV sucked.

Trains ARE awesome. It's difficult to explain what makes them so great to someone who just doesn't get it. I have a hard time believing that anyone who's played RDR or San Andreas, STILL can't grasp why they were cool. I spent many hours messing around with the trains in San Andreas, and derailing them. RDR was also great, except that you couldn't derail the trains, but you could still have fun with killing people with them. Also, i enjoyed the cinematic view of the environment as you rode the trains.

We've had them before, so i fully expect trains to be a part of the game.

I've always really liked trains, just not traveling on them. That aside, the point in having trains in a GTA type of game is that they run on their own tracks, where no other vehicles (basically) can go. There's just that exciting feeling when you're on a train, possibly running on some sort of a viaduct, looking at cars passing by below. That cop car there, it can't stop you. (I'm only imagining this, it hasn't happened to me in real life...)

Riding a train, you have to plan ahead, unlike when you're driving a car: you must stick to the rails, and it can take miles for the train to stop. It brings variety to the game.

Congrats Helsinki!

To add to what you're saying Helsinki, they really add to the fun and the immersion. Who doesn't like to ram a car in front of train (imagine this with IV's engine) as well as placing a ped on the tracks (RDR's hogtying)?

This video shows the LA Metro Gold Line, its more of a tram/trolley car system, but I really hope its in.

Now that we can move around in trains via RDR, and, that we can see peds in them via LA Noire, I really, really hope this is adapated and included in GTA V.

Rockstar constantly try to improve the "living, breathing world" and talk about it before every release. This will only add to it if included (which it should be).

There actually is a rural railway system in Southern California. I'd like to see it return from San Andreas in GTA V. It would be fun to actually drive the trains themselves and derail them.

My point here is wouldn't it be fun if they brought trains back? Also, wouldn't it be badass to have them online for freemode? You could have a group of people on a train and have a player drive it and just go crazy!

Yep, it's already awesome in San Andreas Multiplayer (SA:MP on PC). For me personally trains are one of the most-wanted features in V. And I hope that they will be hijack- and self-driveable.

In Saints Row you could derail the trains with grenades and rockets. I want this in GTA.

- Could you drive the trains in RDR?

I am pretty sure that they will make a comeback.

Just go to 4:03 and you'll see it.

And on the night screen with heli you see train tracks right under

Has no one else pointed out that there was kind of a railway system in GTA 4? I know its different, but no one seems to have mentioned it.

OT: I'd love to see Brown Streak return. They're an awesome GTA brand.

Driving, derailing and other chaotic things would be fun in multiplayer, especially in the countryside.

We did its just that it was so crappy because you couldn't do anything on it except ride to a destination so I felt it wasn't worth mentioning LOL biggrin.gif

Cause IV train sucked. That's another thing I don't like about IV.

Yes! I'd love for some sort of railway system to be included in GTA V, along with accessible and driveable trains. Especially if we can take a train ride around the map much like you can in a taxi (Being able to walk around the inside of the train and see out the window, but you can't exit the train unless you 'skip' to your destination). catloaf_by_anuj.gif

I loved trains ever since I was a little boy. I remember having scale model trains, drawing trains, train simulators, you name it. Messing around with the trains in San Andreas was one of the funnest things to do in that game. Like someone else said, it would be fun to load things on the bigger trains like containers, coal, cars, etc. Another thing I hope to see is uncoupling the main locomotive to another one and building a consist so you can drive across the map either for the scenery or causing havoc. I also hope to see many different types and varieties of freight cars, like the all purpose spine cars and well cars for containers and trailers, boxcars, gondolas, tank cars, coal hoppers/gondolas, centerbeam flats, autoracks for transporting cars, depressed well cars for tanks or electrical transformers, etc. The bigger trains could be based on the various modern General Electric and Electro Motive locomotive models like GEVO's, SD70ACe's, SD40-2's, Dash-9/AC4400's, etc.

I think RDR had a really good railway system. You could walk inside the train - it wasn't a cutscene as in GTA IV. Also the whole infrastructure looked pretty good.

Trains could be part of the story. There are a lot of ways to create some amazing missions involving trains. I really hope there will be railway system in Los Santos as it is pretty important part of real Los Angeles. Wish Union Station would return. Some kind of urban transport like trams or metro trains also should be included.

There wasn't always much of a view from the trains in IV, but the view form trains in RDR was awesome, it should be just as awesome in V riding through the countryside.

I would really like a Brown Streak mission to return.

I just hope we can walk in the carriages.

I used to be like that when I was 6. Gee, thanks for making me feel old. tounge.gif

I used to want to be a Train Engineer, and I can simulate that somewhat in SA, so I think train missions should be added, sort of like the Trucking missions in SA.

IV's subway will always have a special place in my heart. Why? Because the R38 cars you see are retired now in real life nd in fact, were retired a year after the game came out. Miss those babies.

We HAVE to see some sort of transport system based on the Los Angeles Metro Rail. Sure, it's not as developed as New York (or even Mexico City, those cities catering to HUGE crowds), but it's something that is important to LA nonetheless, and for rural travel, we should see a Union Pacific/Caltrans parody.

Hopefully Rockstar will include at least three different forms of rail transport.

1. Local Subway trains (metro)

2. Local trams

3. Trains that traverse the state and leaving Los Santos

To have them all connect at Union (Unity) Station would be awesome.
