JoeJoeMcTwist
Remember the "what if the protagonist was a dog" thread? in it one commentor suggested that it would be cool if R* allowed us to play as animals, for fun, in multiplayer. I think that could be a lot of fun with the right animal. FOR INSTANCE, the mountain lions in RDR were vicious. Imagine being able to play online multiplayer as a mountain lion with reasonable abilities like being stealth (never show up on any radar), being able to easily jump fences, walls, and hop onto roofs. In the city you could stalk other players along the rooftops without them knowing, then jump down and slash them up before running away or back onto a roof top. Of course, playing as a mountain lion one would have very fast running speed, much faster than humans. The mountain lion would be able to take about the same amount of bullets as a human before dying as well. Maybe even the bullet proof vest would be an option for the lion to pick up, but anything else being used by an animal might get a little silly (sillier). Perhaps this option could surface in a DLC... ? horses should be in the game for the beaches and country side, for sure. I do believe I see birds sitting on power lines in the distant on the earlier screen of the guy sitting by the lake. Dogs, some that even try to hump players legs, would be worth a laugh. LOL should only take one bullet though. Not balanced if your that quick and deadly and can take a full clip and survive

herounderfireza
Everyone is going on about the guy putting a for sale sign in front of his house. This might be an indication that you could buy houses again, but I really think it's just Rockstar satiring the recession. The theme of GTA V is about the almighty dollar. Come to think of it, the narrator in the trailer goes on how he wanted to buy a house etc. If the old guy on the balcony is the protagonist then maybe he borrowed some money to start a business, but because of the recession his business wasn't successful, now he has to repay the debt by committing crimes etc. ^^ Off-topic Anyway, I don't really want to have a pet dog in the game. Dogs in the game are cool, but the thing is, I wouldn't even want to have dogs in the game. In Red Dead Redemption once I accidentally shot my own horse... and I felt crap the entire day (I'm serious). If I accidentally run over a stray dog in GTA V I'm going to lose it... saintsrow
should only take one bullet though. Not balanced if your that quick and deadly and can take a full clip and survive Mountain Lions with body armor I woud like to see a similar mix of the animals in RDR, but lower population. But I would like to see a fair number of birds flying, especially in the countryside. There are seagulls, crows, pelicans in the coastal areas of LA. They make plenty of noise in a group and they hang out where there is fishing or food activity near the water. And sea lions (sometimes lounging on the bouys) and dolphins in the water. The dolphins sometimes rush along beside and in front of cruising boats in the open ocean near the coast, leaping and playing and keeping up at full speed. It's beautiful to see. Every LA pier has fishermen along the railing, out at the end of the pier. Near the cargo docks, there is also a fishing boat marina, where the boats with the big nets go out into the open ocean. At night the fishing boats out on the ocean have powerful lights shining down into the water, to attract big schools of fish into their nets. Chukkles
I can see the shape /reflection he thinks is a horse, and yes it does seem to have a body, head and four legs in the shape of a horse, but I think it's more likely to be a statue or something (i'm pretty sure I can see a base, like a concrete base a statue would sit on). But i'm not against it, I have said a few times since day one, riding around LA on horse back like Arnie in True Lies would be awesome. The bit at 2:19 has been seen before and that is infact a dog in a cage. Edited September 24, 2012 by Chukkles

Take things too seriously much? It's a computerized moving shape, I shot many horses in RDR because I loved the way they fell forward, it looks so brutal and exactly how they fall IRL, if say one collapsed on a race track or horse jumping show, or even in movie's when they get killed. A pet Rottwieler would be awesome to have near you feet, perhaps a command menu like "Kill" "sit/wait" and "go home".

Graven
Small to mid-size wild animals that live in California I guess. I'm not sure which animals You could bump into there, Coyotes, rattlesnakes? Sharks would be cool. I'd keep pets out of the game.
thestoneman420
I'd rather no pets, but wild animals would be great. Boars, cougars, deer, coyote, wolves, bear (though while extirpated, still remains Cali's official state mammal), dolphins, whales, horses, sheep, cattle...your smaller mammals like bats, opossums, rodents & rabbits etc...then you have your birds. I'm gonna be a bit 'put off' if there are no animals this time 'round. It wont stop me from buying it, but it will disappoint me a touch.
Finn 7 five 11
I've always thought it would be pretty amusing having cattle in the game, because with cattle come bulls. Would be a funny time on Grand Theft Auto (Maybe multi-player even) to be running through a field and out of nowhere you are being chased by an angry bull, the reaction by the protagonist would be even funnier! "Ah get this damn bull away from me, ahhhh help!" "Damn you lousy farmer! Why couldn't you breed some damn chickens!" Also you should be able to dodge the bull fairly easily, they aren't the most agile creatures, but if you didn't, getting trampled would be pretty funny as well.
