why would there be any animals that wouldn't work for GTA? LOL its a fictional game set in a fictional world (even though based on a real setting...LA in our case...) so why bother limiting animals variety based on that logic? i say screw this add every animal one can imagine!...i want Pandas in GTAV! yes i said PANDAS!...now gimme dat! biggrin.gifdevil.gif

I Would like dogs, cats and wild animals in the countryside and birds and some sea creatures but no sharks!

...no sharks will make underwater experience boring just the way it has been in San Andreas...sharks and other dangerous underseas creatures would add more chalenge and point in visiting underseas areas...hell R* could even implement uderseas missions involving dangerous creatures this time! like having to hunt for treasures undreseas while fighting off sharks and octopuses with harpoon...

It would be alright to have sharks but only attack you if you attack them first or go to near them

Sharks would suck because what would be the point of swimming? Though. The a Zoo would be cool... Be able to release the animals to run amongst themselves would be hallarious!

**Off Topic** Anyone ever play Scarface for PS2? Weren't you able to get tigers on that game?

If sharks could show up in average say 1-2 times every 40 hours spent in the water, that would be great. If you knew that the risk is extremely small to be attacked by a shark, but still knowing it could happen that would be a cool thing.

Dogs should be in the game yes.

why not just make possible to avoid sharks...or being more cautious and not being stupid enough to appear in a n areas they used to roam?... confused.gif

Yes indeed. I remember playing Just Cause 2 and dive very deep near a oil rig. It was frightening because it became darker and darker till the point you expect some creature suddenly would appear out the dark.

I thought the underwater part of JC2's map was really quite beautiful. Dare I say, it looked much better than those crappy underwater sections in Bioshock 2.

I would be very happy if the undersea section of GTA V's map looked like JC2's. You can get away with procedurally generating a seabed. I just don't think we'll be able to dive in V as it doesn't offer enough gameplay opportunities for the effort to create it.

I didn't say "no opportunity effort". It's just not worth Rockstar creating an entire undersea world. Gameplay wise, there's just not much you can do underwater.

...not if you spend 24/7 of your time closed in an attic typing sh*t on forums...kid sorry to burst your bubble but underwater has tons of stuff to do, like scuba diving, hunting for treasures, researching...hidden caves and so on...you obviously don't know what you're talking about...

I think realistically we can expect to see five different 'interactive' animal groups.

Dogs: Mainly police and guard dogs, to add an element of danger to certain missions and areas. Perhaps the odd pet dog being walked along the beach or in parks.

Horses: Police horses in certain missions or areas, riding stables out in the countryside and peds riding along country tracks. Provide an alternative and occasionally better (depending on terrain) mode of transport.

Mountain Lions: Rare, found in the deep countryside, adds life and danger to the countryside (to avoid it being a lifeless wilderness like in SA).

Deer: Only there to add life to the countryside, will run away from the player if you're too loud, occasionally running across the road in front of your car.

Birds: Flying all around the map, just like previous GTAs.

I honestly think this level of animal/wildlife would be fine, maybe the addition of cats and squirrels but nothing more. All the animals above will add something, either 'life' or danger. Obviously RDR had a LOT of animals but there was more wildlife around 100 years ago and the emphasis of the game was on hunting etc, GTA doesn't need that much.

On top of this you could have fish and other marine life if diving returns.

we're talking about UNDERwater not surface swimming!...thats huge difference between being unaware of something chasing after you and just having fun doing crazy stuff underwater, like treasure hunting, collecting something, killing octopuses and sharks with harpoons etc...just for the sake of it...Scarface made it very poor in that department, made me kinda avoid swimming in water...

I really like the idea of swimming underwater and seeing sea creatures, man that would add so much to the immersion and atmosphere. Sharks would be terrifying as hell, but when they attack, it shoudn't be fatal right away. If Rockstar puts gore into GTA V this time around, which i doubt, but you never know...if they do, make it all very bloody. There must be ways to survive though. But if you get dropped into the middle of the sea...you'll be done for. Not sure if sharks would work, at the end of the day.

Remember the "what if the protagonist was a dog" thread? in it one commentor suggested that it would be cool if R* allowed us to play as animals, for fun, in multiplayer. I think that could be a lot of fun with the right animal. FOR INSTANCE, the mountain lions in RDR were vicious. Imagine being able to play online multiplayer as a mountain lion with reasonable abilities like being stealth (never show up on any radar), being able to easily jump fences, walls, and hop onto roofs. In the city you could stalk other players along the rooftops without them knowing, then jump down and slash them up before running away or back onto a roof top. Of course, playing as a mountain lion one would have very fast running speed, much faster than humans. The mountain lion would be able to take about the same amount of bullets as a human before dying as well. Maybe even the bullet proof vest would be an option for the lion to pick up, but anything else being used by an animal might get a little silly (sillier). Perhaps this option could surface in a DLC... ?

horses should be in the game for the beaches and country side, for sure.

I do believe I see birds sitting on power lines in the distant on the earlier screen of the guy sitting by the lake.

Dogs, some that even try to hump players legs, would be worth a laugh.

Dude, not gonna lie. That sounds like great fun for the multiplayer and it sure would surprise well..pretty much anyone who's gonna play the game, lol. But i don't see that happening man.
