Auto Theft of a Grand scale Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 Imagine GTA was like Pokemon, where you could buy either Grand Theft Auto V: Black, or Grand Theft Auto V: White. Like Pokemon, the game would be similar in terms of map, areas to visit and whatnot, the difference being that you would have access to specific characters. In GTA's case, one copy of the game gave you the opportunity to play as the older-looking rich guy, and the other copy allowed you to play as the hispanic/black guy. Now it's inevitable that both storylines will intertwine (hell.. there may be more than two protagonists, but in this case imagine there's two), but which one would you rather play, and why? Being stereotypical, the older-looking man will rise through the ranks from poor to rich, whereas the hispanic/black guy will come from an urban background. Make your choice! I'd honestly like to play as both though if that's what R* have in mind and the story works well with it, wouldn't be happy with paying for the game twice though lol! Ned Luke old guy, it's the first GTA (possible) protagonist with a real crime experience, since Claude just did random jobs to random people, Tommy was a paid killer, CJ was a pathetic street dude (not all of them are), Niko was in the war, Luis was just some bodyguard, Tony was a Mafia's boy, I don't remember what Victor was, but he wasn't a "big" criminal, Huang was a daddy's boy, the only one who had some crime experience was Johnny, but he did just independent crimes, so, yeah, someone experienced would be new and interesting Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

This is like saying imagine if GTA was like Call of Duty and be from a first person prospective all the time...... come to think of possibly already a mod for that. Why not just have one copy. Nobody wants to pay for the same game with minimal changes twice. He was not really asking whether it would happen, but which you would theoretically play. And COD, Madden, and Pokemon have proven that people will indeed pay for the same game twice. --- Personally, I'd definitely go for the Ned Luke one first, then probably get the gangsta one once the price goes down. I'd probably go with the "old" guy. It would be a nice change of pace to start off as a rich guy and potentially stumble to the lower class. The hispanic guy is most likely another "rags to riches" story. Then, when nobody buys the 'black' version, everybody will be called "racists" and some of the money from the white version will be taken and given to the black version.
