Colonel_Buttfuck
The above picture I captured from the trailer. Compare this to the original picture from IV in the first post. The angles are different and the buildings look different in the two pictures. Conclusion: SA.
Frantz Fuchs
I really doubt Rockstar would've started work on V when they were still developing IV.

wwinterj
Seems like it's either photoshopped or from San Andreas.
significantother
To me, it just looks like a modded San Andreas. In fact, I remember I used to have a mod that added more details to San Andreas, and it added bushes VERY similar to that to the vinewood sign, damn I wish I could remember the link. Knife
I don't think they even launched San Andreas to get the pictures, the Vinewood image is from one of the earliest released screens of the game:

V_GTA_V
So that means they develop V for 5 years at least? And hasnt finish yet? DOUBT IT!
HaroldBreevy
It does look like it was taken straight from the Trailer. The leer jet flying over head, even the tower behind the Vinewood sign looks different than the old one in SA. The downtown buildings look like the ones in V too. I Shot The Sheriff
Good job spotting that, man! I'm as confused as you right now lol... but I don't think it is from GTA V. Maybe some unused beta or early conceptual artwork of either SA or V?
Charlie Meadows
Well here's the thing, when they started making GTA IV they used bits of SA to test the new engine. If you dig through the old game files on GTA IV you can actually find Los Santos license plates. The picture is probably some left over SA code rendered in the rage engine. 73duster
I think that picture is simply an artistic take on what was coming for GTAV. Obviously, it wasn't going to be an exact photo from GTAV, because this is from so long ago. I normally don't buy most of the conspiracies, or links that people view as having to do with GTAV, but in THIS case, i think it is TOO much of a coincidence that Rockstar decided to paste this image as the backdrop of that amusement park ride. While it is NOT an exact image from what we've seen in any of the released GTAV info, it IS a remarkably accurate portrayal of the images within the GTAV trailer. Why would they use THAT image in GTAIV? It has NOTHING to do with GTAIV. I believe that Rockstar already knew where they were going to go with the series while developing GTAIV, and it's no coincidence that the image is so startling in it's representation. ClareXoBearrx3R9
I really doubt Rockstar would've started work on V when they were still developing IV. Actually according to tradition, the next version of software already begins development prior to the release of the current version, so it is possible. I'm not really sure about the screenshot...kinda hard to tell on my mobile.
universetwisters
i highly doubt V would be anywhere near development while those textures were made for IV. It looks like a retouched image of SA
BlackLightning
If that was the case, then why would it take over four and half years to get the game?
loki18760
I think it is most likely just a concept drawling for GTA-5. Those are done before development would even start. So it could have very well made it into 4 as a easteregg.
Dan001
Looks like Rockstar is taking quite a bit of time. I have a feeling this game is gonna be HUGE. Get ready to be amazed and shocked at the same time when V releases. GTAV WILL be the successor to GTASA.
koothara
GTA 4 development started even before SA released(in 2004).So it could be possible that V development started when GTA 4 nearing completion.
CARL15523
It is obviously Photshoped image. Don't you see? (Thanks to BoolCaX for the Texture) They are 3 imagen that were put together to make it look like a landscape.. You can tell that they're 3 different shots because angles don't match Edited September 11, 2012 by CARL15523
ClareXoBearrx3R9
If that was the case, then why would it take over four and half years to get the game? Because they have other games and projects to work on.
kj2022
it is definitely from San Andreas, probably taken when they were using SA to test the new engine, if you think they had GTA V modeled and textured in 2007 when in the trailer there's graphical bugs, you're seriously mislead, you can see the building layout is the same as San An. Kill Frenzy!
That IV picture is San Andreas, but I think that it is an Secret you know, I think that R* wanted to say with that picture is that the next GTA game was going to be V, based on Los Santos. My first thought was when I saw the trailer at first time and it was only Los Santos, I thought that R* cancelled whole San Andreas too only Los Santos and surrounding hills. Andreas
If that was the case, then why would it take over four and half years to get the game? After GTA IV was finished Rockstar made the DLCs TLaD and TBoGT for GTA IV. This and they have developed the game Agent. If I consider all this then I think GTA V started to be the bigger priority in late 2009 at earliest. Even if the development started short after GTA IV, it's not possible that Rockstar could've worked on it like they did with GTA IV. Btw Rockstar North helped a little bit on the development of Max Payne 3. You have to know that if a game reach the last months of development then all Rockstar studios help out the developing studio. So GTA V's development was slow until late 2009 (I think so!) and it slowed down a bit in the last months before the release of Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. We can only speculate but I think all these points I made here in this post are the reason why we don't have GTA V yet. It's even possible that GTA V was scheduled for a October 2012 release and now it's internally delayed. Nobody knows. No official release date, no official delay. The same for the development of GTA V. Can you remember what Rockstar said in early October 2011? They said this: Big, big shout to all Grand Theft Auto fans worldwide who we know are anxious to hear about what's next for the franchise but we don't have any news at this time. All we can say is, right now, we're focused on our next upcoming releases which are Max Payne 3 as well as L.A. Noire for PC, Red Dead Redemption Game of the Year Edition and Max Payne for mobile devices. When and if we have anything to report regarding the Grand Theft Auto franchise, you know that we'll do so here at the Newswire or on our Twitter or Facebook. What happened? 19 days later GTA V was announced and we got the first trailer on November 2nd. By the way the GTA V trailer has more than 23 million views and a lot flamewars. huevos_benedicto_180
Yeah, photoshop. That's clearly from San Andreas. Do you think they had built that much of GTA V in 2008?
