Remember the picture that was found in GTA IV someone posted a while ago and claimed that it's from GTA V? Well most people were sure that It's from San Andreas, but today I decided to compare it and look what I've got.

I've taken a screenshot from the same angle.

The graphics definitely looks from the old engine, but there's a few details that are not the same..

Well since it was the tallest building from San Andreas (correct me if I'm wrong) I've decided to take a screenshot from there, but this looks nothing alike, I've tryed from different angles, still the postitions of the buildings are not the same.

But the Vinewood sign in GTA V trailer also looks nothing alike

I don't know where the hell is that damn picture from.

I think they're the same.. your angles are different. The skyline shot in IV was taken with an extreme wide angle and they doctored it to look like a panorama shot. The only thing that's different is the bushes.. maybe they imported it into RAGE to make the shot? Or it may actually have been from an early build of SA where it had more ground foliage which was later cut or altered for performance?

You can try looking it for yourself in the game, then post a screenshot, but I'm pretty sure that the building are not the same. As I stated before I've tryed viewing from different angles.

*Photoshop*

Probably this, or maybe it's a very early version of GTAV's Los Santos, we've all seen how ugly Agent looked in those early screens maybe this is the same situation.

I think theyre from sa, no way theyre from v imo

My suspection is that the picture is from alpha version of San Andreas.

It's either from a BETA SA, or R* touched up SA for the photo.

The lighting on the Vinewood shot reminds me of IV though, so maybe they imported SA into rage? (Someone already said this)

That looks like San Andreas (III Era),Perhaps the beta one,Because in the final version,There weren't any bushes around/near the Vinewood sign like the one we can see in TBoGT.

Also,I wanted to say that Rockstar did the same back in 2001,In GTA III,The huge billboard that reads "See you in Miami",Which was a hint/clue/easter egg about the next upcoming game,GTA Vice City.

It's from San Andreas. 3 Pictures merged together. The Vinewood sign, the shot of the city and the shot of the Shamal.

Myth Busted!

EDIT: About the bushes: if you run GTA SA maxed out on PC, you'll be able to see them.

I don't think so,I'm pretty sure that there aren't bushes like the ones we see in TBoGT.

All we have is short grass scattered around downhill.

I will test this and then give results. rolleyes.gif

I've heard that if you run the 'Hot Coffee' mod maxed out, you can see bush. Is that true? tounge.gif

You were wrong lol

The bushes are way smaller in-game, even on the highest setting available.

Looks like two seperate images of Los Santos from GTA San Andreas. Check out the radio mast behind the sign, looks too much like the San Andreas one.

The lettering looks much more like the San Andreas one.

The terrain looks much more like the San Andreas screen, albeit the extra shrubs (however very easy to add in additional shrubs ingame or during post-processing)

Cityscape looks more like San Andreas but touched up obviously.

I don't think anyone claimed it was from GTA V, as that obviously makes no sense at all. They hadn't already created GTA V's map before shipping GTA IV, that's just obvious. People did think it looked like the trailer and that maybe it was 'pre-planned' but even that was clutching at straws.

It's from the Ballad of Gay Tony actually

It was there on release of GTA IV in 2008.

These pictures are from GTA San Andreas, not GTA V. I made two screenshots from GTA SA:

Don't wonder why the game looks different. It's heavily modded. tounge.gif Anyway Rockstar made two screenshots (like these^)and they combined it to one panorama image. It's simple. Why are there different bushes in the picture from the funfair in GTA IV? It's possible that Rockstar "modded" GTA SA to make look it better. This or maybe GTA SA had other bushes in one of the earlier beta stages.

EDIT: If you look at the panorama image of the funfair then you can clearly see it looks more like GTA SA than GTA V.

OMG I can't believe I couldn't find that position, I feel ashamed, anyways It's still quite possible that the picture is from early version of San Andreas, there's some little details that don't match.

It's a lot more likely that it's from an early V than an early SA -- why would they go trough all the trouble when they already had the early version of V within reach? There's also a mod out there that imports San Andreas to RAGE, anyone have it and care to screenshot?
