uJhatafart00
Hey guys, i was wondering about why R* didn't revealed the platform yet. So, talking with some friend on other forums, and with much online-searching, i've come to a conclusion. I think R* want to release it for next-gen, due to a "deal" they made with Sony/Microsoft. As you maybe know, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo, secure a profit for every sold copy of whatever game, and the percentage (or rate) is called "royalty" (you can easily find it on wikipedia or on stuff like that). But to spur the SHs to produce during "the moments of discontinuity" (like change of console-generation), they cancel this royalty or just ensure SHs a huge income. This happened with MGS 4, and this "huge income" has to be more than huge, cause Konami was and still is in a difficult economic situation and only MGS saga keeps them afloat. So, i guess this will happen again for GTA V. Sony and Microsoft (and Nintendo maybe) have made a deal with R* that guarantees to R* a % of the sales of new-gen console, and guarantees to Sony and Microsoft that GTA V will be a new-gen game. Sorry for my bad english, hope you will understand what i mean.
r0eladn
And here comes another current/next gen debate.. All i have to say is maybe, maybe not.
Meekail
The screenshots doesn't look like next-gen to me. I sure hope not.
Johan
They're not ready to reveal anything release date related ffs
Catwalk
Only problem with that theory is that Take Two's financial forecast for R* won't be achieved if V is only on next gen consoles due to an established market not being there early on in a new consoles life. What I don't get is why everybody seems to think it has to either be on this gen of consoles OR on the next gen. If I'm R* I would release V for the current consoles AND make it a launch title for the next gen, that way you ensure maximum sales.
bowling...?
I remember another post about something like this. They wouldn't make as much money if it was on next gen. More people own current gen. Gta IV was also released two years after consoles were released because more people would own them. Rockstar couldn't make us wait more years. I think the real problem will be the fans disappointment, R* has this big succes for his relation with fans, so doing that won't be great.

Well they care about their fans so they wouldn't do that to us. If they did this they'd be sticking the middle finger to our faces.
Adriaan
What you are suggesting is that first party publishers Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo will somehow pay Rockstar a couple billion dollars to not release the game on their own platforms, and instead wait however long for a next generation of hardware. As 99% of members disagree with you, I don't see this going anywhere good. And yes, there's a good chance these games will end up on those new platforms, just that it makes absolutely no sense for them not to release those games on current gen consoles when that is what they're currently running on.
