smokin427
electronic music has reached such a large group of people, that it wouldn't make sense to have only one station. Id like to see one for house music, including Avicii and deadmau5. Then there should be an underground electronic station, featuring DJs like Derek Smith of Pretty Lights and Lorin Ashton of Bassnectar. I also think they should have an electro-rock station, featuring groups like MGMT and Portugal the Man. house: underground electro: electro-rock Edited October 4, 2012 by smokin427

This is an amazing song, just the sound I was looking for. As far as your electric rock suggestions, I think those would be more indie pop/rock than electronic. I'm not sure if indie pop will find its way into GTAV, I have songs that I feel would be good for the game, but its hard to say. I just can't picture this music in GTAV. We're most likely will be playing an older protagonist, and I really can't picture him listening to this type of music. I do feel indie pop might find its way into GTAV, but I already have a lot of stations at the moment that cover similar genres. These songs have electronic elements to them, but I wouldn't put them in PINCH.
Patrizio
Long overdue Grope – been busy! Here is the first of my Dubstep/Dnb stations for you to ponder. It would suit a GTA London more than Los Santos – but its definitely a start. K-Dub 103 Straight from the streets of South London, Los Santos proudly brings to you the finest, the grimiest, the filthiest – in retro and gloom. Your number one station for real Dubstep - coming live from Tequi-la-la, hosted by DMZ’s Mala. This station plays early and original dubstep – reggae and dub influenced. Before Skrillex and the ‘robot-sex’ sound. It’s gloomy, and depressive. Ideal to make those edgy ghettos of Ganton and Idlewood that bit edgier… Ideally suited for cruisin’ – tech-9s ready for the driveby.. The station starts off very gloomy and gritty, and then moves more “reggae-ish” so to speak and then finishes were pure aggression. All have that “dub” or “reggae” sound in them that will later disappear in Dubstep. Bear in mind that in game the songs would be mixed – so no slow drum start that you will hear with these: Skream – Rutten Swish – Pinch Plastician – Magma Digital Mystikz – Earth A Run Red Skream – Exothermic Reaction Radikal Guru – Strong Dub Caspa & Rusko – Custard Chucker Laid Blak – Red (Chasing Shadows Remix) Edited October 20, 2012 by PaddsterG2k3
Patrizio
Badman Rhythms Live in studio we have the superb Plan B hosting, spinning and mixing the filthiest in modern dubstep and dnb. This station is far more “accessible” as far as this genre of music goes. It is still gritty but is more electronic and EDM influenced. It starts with dubstep and ends with dnb (liquid funk – the accessible genre) This is much more of a draft - as so much can go here! Bear in mind dubstep/dnb rely on “drops” the song often doesn’t really “kick in” until around the 1 minute mark. Dream – Last Time Gemini – Fire Inside Slum Dogz – For All Time – doesn’t properly kick in until 45 seconds… Professor Green – Jungle (High Rankin Remix) Flux Pavilion – Bass Cannon Skrillex – Bangarang – and of course, the most divisive name in Dubstep… La Roux – In For The Kill (Skream Lets Get Ravey Remix) Chase and Status – Smash TV Camo and Krooked – Nothing Is Older Than Yesterday Major Lazer – Get Free (Andy C Remix) Drumsound & Bassline Smith – Through The Night – final song (of the show) --- Apologies for the double post. My computer is incredibly slow at the moment and I want the stations to be read separately. I'll merge if necessary!
universetwisters
You need some good trance, amigo. I used to love listening to Rise FM in III. It really fit into the gritty atmosphere. I'll start with a classic:
Dick Justice
Hey Grope, I like all your ideas for radio except for Pulse, I feel like they'll go in a different direction and focus more on West Coast based bands - think Desert Sessions kind of music. Check out the kind of songs I think they will include: [Desert Sessions] Eccentric Man Basically, Desert Sessions is a collaboration between many West Coast based alternative rock acts like Josh Homme and Mark Lanegan. It was made in the late 90's/early 00's, so it's possible that Rockstar could gather some more modern stuff from all these artists but I think it's likely they could include a radio station full of awesome tunes like this. Cyfa
Look I appreciate you doing all of this Grope but it is unnecessary because a lot of this is going to be untrue. Granted you did this over a month ago but still seems like a waste I loved reading it though!
grope_4_that_date
Read my predictions before the 8th. I know I am right. If you take anything away from this article, take this: THE WANTED LEVEL SYSTEM • I strongly believe cops will handcuff you during 1-star wanted levels, finally bringing fear to the player. Cops will run faster than ever before, and may even outrun you depending on which character you are playing. (Ned Luke, for example, will run slower than the others.) THE SOUNDTRACK • The soundtrack will be different than any soundtrack we've heard before - the music will revolve around the characters, just as IV's soundtrack revolved around Niko. THE ECONOMY • GTAV will have a working economy, as Red Dead Redemption did. I think for the first time in GTA, we'll be able to rent motels/hotels for a certain period of time. Money will have a huge part in gameplay; and items will be realistically priced. ENVIROMENTS • The map will have mult-environments, like Red Dead Redemption, which will allow players to escape areas of the game. No more concrete jungles. And as many of you know, animals will likewise fill the forests, lakes, and rivers, as AI, just as pedestrians fill the streets of Los Santos. Believe me, I know Rockstar. I know they're taste in music. I know what they've done, and what they havn't done. I know their style. I know the directions they need and will take, in terms of gameplay and storymode. I know the next step - the step that Rockstar will achieve with GTAV. They have to go bigger and THEY CAN. grope_4_that_date
Here's a more detailed explanation of what I think the reggea station will be like in GTAV. Again, Rockstar will introduce us to new styles of music for each game. V will need a reggae station, which is why I feel we will get a new, tropical, up-beat reggae station, consisting of recent reggae fushion hits. Rockstar will not pick these specific songs, but they most likely will try this stye of music. Genre: Reggae Fushion For a different tropical feel, Rockstar could also go with music.
