HoboDealer
Excellent ideas dude! Completely agree with you on most of your ideas, I really do hope Rockstar's ideas are similar Especially like the parts about the permanent car and the fear factor! PacketOverload_x64bit
While obviously not knowing more details about GTA V, I can't get "really" hyped about stuff like this but a HUGE kudos to Grope for creating a kind of whimsical, Christmas-like feel with all the predictions and graphics and speculation. I for one can appreciate the effort you put in, and how you are actually helping keep the dream of a new GTA series cherished. Thanks man. If this thread had only contained real information, as I first thought it was, it would've been the best thread on this board. Not to late to convert the thread with real info you know I agree here too. -Packet Edited September 25, 2012 by PacketOVerload_x64Bit

universetwisters
(Other possible selections: Carry On, Wooden Ships, Love the One Your With) Stephen Stills did "Love the one youre with" as part of a solo gig, he didn't do it as part of CSNY (although they do sing it from time to time)
B Dawg
You could put plot in reserved and start on it now. It'll just involve the main character being betrayed by some guy you meet at the beginning of the story like in most of R*'s games. Bully had Gary. RDR had Edgar Ross. SA had Ryder and Big Smoke. GTA IV had Dimitri. TLaD had Billy. TBoGT had Bulgarin even though he wasn't really at the beginning. Vice City had Vance. The pattern will most likely continue. You forgot GTA III, betrayed by Catalina

grope_4_that_date
(KXOL) DAZZ 98.8 FM Rockstar hasn't had a good Funk station since San Andreas. I think Rockstar should take a more classic Funk approach, with more early 70s / late 60s music. Ned Luke is an older protagonist, so we're probably going to get some older music. Plus, the funk stations in SA covered funk from the 60s to 80s, which is why they're more likely to copy this genre again. Sam & Dave: ("Hold On I'm Coming") Sly & the Family Stone: ("Everyday People") (Other possible track: Thank You) Parliament: ("Come In Out of the Rain") Hard Times - Baby Huey Billy Preston - ("Will It Go Round in Circles") (Other possible tracks include Space Race, Billy's Bag) Stevie Wonder: ("Higher Ground") (Stevie has plenty of other possible tracks!) The Temptations: ("Power") O'Jays: ("For the Love of Money") (Although this song is so well known, it would definately be a popular song within the game.) DS 17
First thought: not that a long post again, but then I began reading it and it was defnitely worth reading it. Your ideas are great, especially the savehouse idea with the Motel and parking the car for e. g. 7 ingame days in a parking space provided by the Motel. The thing I don't like is your wanted level system. You wrote, that there will be more and more police if the player don't leave the wanted circle. I don't like this, because in real the police will go away, if there is the possibility that the offender went away. So if they searched nearly everywhere and you just got a really good hiding place, they should go away. But if a cop see you in the next time, they should recognize you maybe, depending on the former wanted level stars.

grope_4_that_date
Updates: •I've added a new radio station (I'm not sure how happy I am with it). I agree that there will be a Pop station - I'm just trying to figure out what has and hasn't been done. The name Galaxy is only temporary. •I feel Amy Winehouse's voice would be a great sound for Los Santos, so I'm also trying to work up a R&B/Soul station as well. Her song Back to Black gave me the idea - her voice is so iconic and has an eeire feel to it (Other artists I have in mind: Macy Gray & Duffy?) • I've added a new section in the 'Wanted Level System' section, again stressing the importance of footchases for 1-2 stars. I've provided a video from the movie Point Break to accompany it. • I've realized that real fun cannot exist without misforutune. I've concluded that San Andreas was entertaining to us because it was challenging. Although we don't like the hard missions that took 100 tries to complete, it makes the rest of the game that much more fun (not including all the other features). I think GTAV will be a lot more challenging than IV. I'll try to work this into the gameplay section, which is currently being work on. • Help me with the stations - what other genres have NOT been done? Bellic 4 life
For those want metal and country - I didn't include those genres because they don't fit well in a present-day Los Santos. Rockstar has already covered old country, and I highly doubt they'd create a current country station in Los Santos. They'll save that for Vice City. As for more rap & hiphop, I think one station is enough - it will just have a large playlist. Dubstep can fit in with PINCH. BS, LA has a large amount of Metal clubs. In addition, tons of bands come out of Cali, including (can't believe I am using them as an example) Avenged Sevenfold.

grope_4_that_date
Comments: Although the Ballad of Gay Tony had Vladivostok FM, it mostly covered European dance/house music. (Booty Luv - English; David Guetta - French; Eric Prydz - Swedish) I think GTAV will have a more American take on this genre of music. They will also probably encorporate new elements of electronic music, such as Dubstep and Trance. Rockstar didn't really capture this genre very well in the Ballad of Gay Tony or Chinatown Wars, so I think it can be 'reused'. Plus, it's hard not to encorporate this type of music in a Present Day Los Angeles. This music defines the current generation. Genre: Electronic; Dance; Dubstep Dillon Francis: ("I.D.G.A.F.O.S") (Los Angeles-raised producer) The Glitch Mob: ("We Can Make the World Stop") (From Los Angeles; Rockstar would probably use a different song) Porter Robinson - Spitfire (Kill the Noise Remix) (American DJ and producer from North Carolina) Duck Sauce: ("Barbra Streisand") Havana Brown: ("We Run the Night") (Rockstar could also incorporate a mix between Electronic Dance and Dance Pop) Wolfgang Gartner: ("Illmerica") Not necessarily American, but Rockstar hasn't really captured this genre: Mat Zo & Arty: ("Mozart") (I intended PINCH to sound more like this...) Pryda: ("Lesson One") Norin & Rad: ("Bloom") Mustard Pimp feat Dirtyphonics: ("City Kids") Mord Fustang: ("Super Fever") Edited October 4, 2012 by grope_4_that_date

Patrizio
Absolutely fantatic topic Grope, but I'm going to have to nit pick again. Different genres of dance music are VERY varied. Dubstep and House music on the same station does not sound right. I would go for a dubtep station - its very popular worldwide, especially thank to LA's own Skrillex. I'll give a go at creating a station if you like. There HAS been a Drum and Bass station before (MSX FM), a Trance station (Rise FM) and a House station (Electro Choc). There has NOT been a dubstep or a electro station yet - both would be good option. Dubstep: Radio friendly Dubstep: Electro:

I shouldn't really include 'Trance', as I've picked way too many genres for one station. I do however still think Rockstar will include an eletronic/dance station. Dubstep will certainly be a big part of it - but the station has to appeal to the wide variety of players. Dubstep can be a little hard to listen to for some, but there is a lot of commerical dubstep that can appeal to everyone. What direction are they going to take? I don't know. They could create a station for hardcore dubstep fans, and only have that one style of music. I personally think they'll include more popular Dance tracks. They'll pick mainstreem artists like David Guetta and Avicii (but the American versions of them). As you say, Trance and House have been done - but dubstep and electro have not. Hopefully Rockstar will head in this direction. This genre has a lot of great music that hasn't been touched yet.
