jamieleng Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 I like the idea of stealing high value unique items. A bit like the treasure map hunt in RDR, only a lot more complex & involved. You would purchase heist plans from a character similar to Jon Voight in the movie 'Heat'. You would then choose a team from the 'friend' list that you have acquired so far in the game. Each unique item will be securely held in different places like a billionaire's 'safe room' in a house or yacht, a bank vault, in transit via armoured convoy etc. I'm not sure if it would be wise to make them missions that could be failed permanently, but it would certainly make them frustratingly 'unique'. However, believe me, I havn't forgotten about this. I'm working on the map at the moment, and as you can see I've added another radio station. I overlooked a few genres, and my next theory is Big Band music, which is something that hasn't been done by Rockstar. Also, it would fit Los Santos perfectly. Although this type of music originates from Chicago and New York, it would fit more to LS's colorful vibe. It could also give a little 'tip of the hat' to LA NOIRE. Genre: Swing; Big Band Other possible genres I was thinking of were: - Bluegrass - Blues I know a lot of you were saying you wanted a country station. When I think of LA one of the first things that pops up in my mind is West Coast Rap. Whether or not people like it as much as any other genre of music, it goes hand in hand with LA's South Central Area which if R* went the direction they did with Bohan and practically cutting the Bronx in half (leaving out Yankee Stadium, Fordham University, and the Bronx Zoo) would kill the game for me. The point of my radio stations were to predict the genres that will be included in GTAV. I included a hiphop/rap station and therefore don't need another. GTA4 had a current hiphop and a 'classics' hiphop station - so I don't think Rockstar will do that again. I think they'll just include one major hiphop station with a long playlist. This is completely relevant to GTAV, as this thread is suppose to summarize our expectations for GTAV. These ideas are not entirely mine. They are a collection of features taken from other 'Cockstar' games, such as Red Dead Redemption, Bully, Manhunt, and San Andreas. These theories are all possible; all new; and all relevant to GTAV. It'll just involve the main character being betrayed by some guy you meet at the beginning of the story like in most of R*'s games. Bully had Gary. RDR had Edgar Ross. SA had Ryder and Big Smoke. GTA IV had Dimitri. TLaD had Billy. TBoGT had Bulgarin even though he wasn't really at the beginning. Vice City had Vance. The pattern will most likely continue. So far we've had RadioX (late 80s/early 90s alternative rock) and Radio Broker (2007-2008 alternative), which are basically two different stations each having their own theme. In reality, their tracklist defines the station - not the genre. Alternative rock is such a broad term it can't really describe anything! So, with PulseRadio, I tried to describe a station that hasn't been done before. It would encorporate elements of American funk rock and late British shoegazing music, all taking place "around the year 2001". The early 2000s had some great hits. Hopefully Rockstar takes this route, because it's music we already love. So, just a recap: 2000-2005ish. Keep in mind, it's very hard to find songs that fit together. I don't have as much skill or time as Rockstar, so I put together a short list just to give you the feel of the station. If anything, go by the first example - that's how I imagine the station to be. If anyone has any other theories on what Alternative station Rockstar will chose, let me know in the comments! Genre: Alternative Rock; Funk Rock The Charlatans Brian Jonestown Massacre Chapterhouse Lenny Kravitz The Superman Lovers Suede Mansun Stereo MCs blur The Farm Beck Gomez Not really sure about these, but had to include them.
