If R* would do that again, i guess they'll get a gold medal or smth for doing impossible thing. To be fair i don't know any recent game with so terrible optimalisation as IV.. lh1 Posted September 8, 2012 Share Posted September 8, 2012 I think it wouldn't be a port and it would be way better than GTA IV PC as they're developing GTA V on the new version of RAGE engine, possibly 2.0. I think the reason why GTA IV PC is a bad port is because of the engine. Remember when they were using RenderWare, everything is just fine, but when they switched to the new engine, RAGE, it was bad as it was still new but now after 4 years, I'm pretty sure they improved the engine a lot since Max Payne 3 for not just PC, but PS3 too. Also to those wo still believe that Max Payne 3 was a port: How the f*ck do you explain the short amount of time to port the entire game from the console to PC. Also how did the PC Version got all these DX11 features if this would be a port? GTAV for PC will be released at around the same time. Max. a month later. Above me: No it wasn't.. in fact it was one of the worst. I am just glad that they fixed it after several patches. Also, I don't think Rockstar will delay the release of the game for PC amid piracy concerns, they know it is stupid and also know it does quite the opposite as it makes people even more willing to pirate it. Max Payne 3 is NOT a port, it is stated by Rockstar themselves on the official website under the pc tab that it was made in parallel with the console version which resulted in a butter-smooth and greatly optimized game! I'm more concerned about the release date of the pc version. Will it be simultaneous, 2 weeks like max Payne 3, or (God forbid) 8 months like IV. Mig10 Posted September 8, 2012 Share Posted September 8, 2012 they know that they can keep adding the updates cause pc people simply are used to have to wait for fixs, after all they usely seem to only start developing the game for pc as soon as they release the console version, that said i know that they have learned their lesson, they didn't even thought on making an pc port for RDR but they are most likely developing the new GTA for pc at the same type they do the xbox version and the ps3 port, in the end most games of this gen are made on a pc for xbox and then the others.
