Pyrrhic
- Pick up all hidden packages on Portland - Do Taxi Driver (100 fares), Paramedic (level 12) Firefighter (level 20 on each island) and Vigilante (level 20 on each island) - Do Patriot Playground side race from the Patriot out the front of Supa-Save and TOYZ Diablo and Mafia missions - Do all unique stunts and Rampages on Portland - Do El Burro's missions from. Hepburn Heights when you unlock them - Do all import/export vehicles and Emergemcy vehicle deliveries at Portland Harbor - Do all storyline missions on Portland, but be sure to complete all of Toni and Joey's missions before Salvatore's mission 'Last Requests' or you won't be able to get 100% - Get to Staunton Island (2nd Island) - Find all hidden packages on Staunton (you may need to go back to Portland to get certain ones) - Do A Ride in the Park and Multistory Mayhem side races by entering the Landstalker in Belleville Park and a Stallion out the front of the car park in Newport respectively - Do all unique stunts and rampages on Staunton - Do King Courtney's missions from the pay phone in Aspatria as soon as possible - Do TOYZ Yakuza mission from the van near Kenji's casino - Do all storyline missions on Staunton Island (make sure you complete all of Kenji's missions before Donald Love's mission 'Waka-Gishira Wipeout) - Get to Shoreside Vale (3rd Island) but don't do Catalina's mission (because it's the final one) - Do all import-export vehicle deliveries at the garage in Pike Creek - Collect all hidden packages on Shoreside Vale (you should now have all 100) - Do all unique stunts and rampages on Shoreside - Do the Gripped side race on Shoreside - Do the TOYZ Southside Hoods side mission - Complete the final mission: 'The Exchange' from the Cartel Mansion. This is the legit way of course. You can get to the other islands at the beginning using bridge exploits but I never do because it just doesn't seem right. The way I do it feels like the way it should be. That's all I can think of.
cidamelo
I think the best way to play GTA III is doing the game slowly, walking around the streets, listening to its sounds or the Chatterbox... the best thing of the game is the atmosphere, I hope you like it, is my favorite GTA!! Chad Warden
I just started the game. Got 20 fares, going for 100.
DEALUX
Besides everything that was mentioned already, I would also suggest that you do not use any cheats, because if you do the game will become much easier and shorter. There are some hard missions for someone who's not an experienced player but if you try hard enough you will become really good at the game. Dingleman
Check your stats, find the "People you've killed" stat, try and get that to 50,000. Have fun.
DEALUX
And also get the highest criminal rating. I have never gone past five thousand something I think. What's the highest you can get? I know you can probably go for infinity but I mean is there anything after the "Boss" rating? You can get to the other islands at the beginning using bridge exploits but I never do because it just doesn't seem right. The way I do it feels like the way it should be. That's all I can think of. To add. -Finish Securicar Cracker Garage (Not needed for 100%, still a good challenge) Also, if you want to complete the game 100% Note, you must complete all Joey's and Luigi's missions before Salvatore's mission Last Requests, All Kenji's mission's before Dolan's mission Waka-Gashira Wipeout, Asuka's mission Two-Face Tanner before Dolan's mission Grand Theft Aero. Also, a tip, Finish El Burro's Missions and Marty Chonk's missions before Maria's mission Sayonara Salvatore. their missions will be easier that way. And finish Paramedic missions as soon as possible before any gang in Portland hates you.

Arsen Vitiuk
A thing to add from a GTA III lover: everyone enjoys the game in his own way, but it is solely up to you which exact way will you enjoy it. Every person's tastes are different, so we cannot really go and advise you anything exactly without having a slightest idea about what your preferences within the games are. If you want to become a real game lover like me, you have to 'feel' the game, you know? Feel you belong to the city, you're the one with the game world. If you succumb into the game world itself and become a part of it, playing the game from the inside, then you will truly feel the game. And that's just what I did. Anyway, it is your call! Arsen Vitiuk
Congratulations on getting there! Just so you know: the easy part of the game has ended. And I have to tell that ahead lies the most interesting and, naturally, a hard part of the game. So good luck with it! Let us know of any issues that may come up - we will be here to help you gladly. Chad Warden
Doing Asuka's first mission, killing those goons on the balcony is tough. I can't seem to avoid a wanted level.
Arsen Vitiuk
A little bitty advice: first, make sure you've got yourself a decent amount of ammo for Sniper Rifle or M16 (yes, it's possible to get it at this point even without 90 Hidden Packages or accessing Shoreside). And kill the balcony goons in the last place, unless you want to get yourself the Mafia Rumpo (or FBI Rumpo if you're on PC). Getting Wanted Level is something that should not be avoided, but instead, you can always lose it at the Pay'N'Spray or by using Police Bribes scattered around the map. On PC version, you will definitely be having a higher Wanted Level than on PS2. That's what I know. You could as well give some more detail... I'm struggling because I can't view them all. I'm using the M16, and they're partially covered. I have issues acquiring targets before the LSPD come and poop on my party. Arsen Vitiuk
All right, here's the deal. If you can't whack'em with your trusty M16, and you don't have the Sniper Rifle on your hands, then go to the AmmuNation in Newport (note that it's marked on the radar with a gun icon, but this icon will disappear after the mission is over, so you won't know where exactly to find it if you haven't seen it before). In the AmmuNation, buy yourself a Sniper Rifle. The price is reasonable - $ 10.000 for 25 bullets. And 25 bullets should be enough for this mission, I guess. Try it that way!
