manutd36
I was looking at the trailer and noticed that, in the scene with the Pest Control van, 'Ned Luke' seems to have gotten out of the van on the right side. Now, assuming he is the main protagonist, surely he would have gotten out of the van on the left hand side, since the van would be left hand drive? This would mean that someone else would've been driving and that he is just a character that plays a large role in the game.
Algonquin Assassin
You do know there's a thing called riding shotgun? We don't always drive in GTA. Dotseoem
Nah. It's cool to think outside of the box and all but there were plenty of missions before where the protagonist wasn't the driver. The only thing this proves it that you'll have help.

ExtremoMania
I will adjust to your opinions although the mere thinking that Ned Luke is either the main character or protagonist is yet to be confirmed. Your idea of Ned Luke getting-out at right door doesn't just mean really other main characters drive the Burrito, maybe he could have get-off the right door instead the left-drive door or either way someone just drives the van that isn't important in the storyline, just as the taxi drivers in Liberty City where they drive Niko to and from another place. We may still don't know who will be the protagonist until more information will be given or if R* give us the 2nd trailer.
Official General
The theory is a trifle silly just based on that. However I think it will be multiple protagonists, I just hope we are not gonna play only as that Ned Luke guy.
Darrel
You play as both? During ned's story line you go inside and rob the place During the younger gentleman's story you wait in the van and are the get away driver. Same part of the story. Different prospective. manutd36
Fair enough that it could be an NPC driving, although it rarely happens too much.

wwinterj
This would mean that someone else would've been driving. Hit the nail on the head here. Doesn't mean he's not the protagonist though as someone could be driving you to that point. That or you might be in control of another protagonist at that point and there missions intertwine. However obviously Ned Luke guy might not be the protagonist at all but at this point it seems like he's at least one of them if not the only one. GR7
Where is Niko sitting in this artwork? The main character doesn't always have to be the driver, that being said I'm growing more and more confident both of them will be playable at some points of the game, it might be a situation where Ned Luke's character dies/retires and red car guy becomes the new leader of the crew. police rights
I'm been saying 3 protags but since reading this I only suspect 2 the spanish guy and the white guy, the spanish obviously shaved his head at some point. Just like in max payne when he shaves his head his hair starts to grow back slowly. I suspect you will be able to do this in gta v

darkplague
maybe they take an EFLC and GTA:IV approach, but instead of having seperate games, you simply choose a protagonist, and then play intersecting storylines based on which character you chose, with the other character(s)? just a guess... I'm thinking the same thing, maybe thats the bold new direction they are talking about. Playing as a rich person or playing a poor person. I'm guessing the second trailer will be about the poor guy To be honest I would prefer this. I'm not really a fan of "multiple protagonists" because it just seems odd. I'm one of those people who stick with what is familiar, and so I would like GTA V just to have one protagonist, I don't really mind if he's old, sick or whatever. If they throw a second, maybe a third protagonist in it would just complicate the game for me. The idea of where you can choose which protagonist you want to play as is a much better option if they want to incorporate a second or third protagonist into the game. Not to mention this option will also increase the playtime. I finished GTA IV in like... a week or two. It didn't really feel like I got my money's worth or play time. GTA San Andreas on the other hand felt much longer and all the extra jobs and stuff that you could do made it worth it. If you could choose your own protagonist, then chances are of course that when you finished the game, you would start over as the other protagonist. But then they should really make the story different. Give a different perspective. I never liked those action games where you can choose the protagonist, but the only real difference is the small bonus you get for playing as that person, like +10% more health or whatever.
