GTA V Key to the City Reward

Do you reckon Rockstar will have another reward for players who complete GTA V 100% in a set time like they did for GTA IV?

If your completely baffled by this rather en lighting topic.. then I shall enlighten you. Basically Rockstar held a competition for players who completed GTA IV 100% within a weeks release gained a prize from Rockstar. Which was a rare limited edition Rockstar key to liberty city in a suede case with a lovely congratulations note. Rockstar did increase the time to 2 weeks.. and yes I decided to do it because I was sad and pretty much had a lot of time.. See image below.

Yes it's pretty isn't it.. I still keep it safely tucked away.

Do you think they will do something similar for GTA V ? If they do.. will you be sad like me and try to get a nice reward?

This key to the city is being sold on eBay for £2000 currently.. Nah im joking. Who knows though right?

I'd rather play the game peacefully without a hurry, a key is not worth it

Yep i agree.. but two weeks is a long time. I completed GTA IV without rushing in less then 30 Hours or something like that. To which you gain an achievement for doing so.

Y'know, I rushed through the game after getting IV and it took a lot of the fun out of it (I didn't get a key; I thought it was only limited to the first 100 that beat it 100%. Maybe I should have gotten one? oh well). Key or no key, I'll probably take my time with this one. I still enjoyed playing IV afterwards but the magic of the story was gone and had been wasted.

It was (IIRC) just one week.

But even so, most of us look inch by inch of the map, no hurries, everything peacefully, etc.

But I respect everyone that would want it, it's their game. smile.gif

I thought about it and I hope so, I wouldnt complete the game so quickly becouse I want to have fun with it for a longer time but if its some other kind of competition than I'll try for sure if it will be for PC players too (it may be difficult becouse of its modability)

The 30 hours achievement is very easy. But beating the game within 2 weeks of release is not something I would try to do because I like enjoying their games the first time I play them.

Yeah but then it was extended to two weeks, that's why I decided 'Hell Yeah, might as well'

But I agree.. I only wanted to do it because not many people will have this. Might be worth something in time. Maybe.

the key looks great but it's just unrockstar alike to congratulate a player for buying the game on release and playing till death. They keep saying that Rockstar philosophy is to make games for players to enjoy, having one competition like that ruins all.

EDIT:

Damn I wish I got the key. Yes, I do reckon they will add similar rewards for GTA V! I don't plan on getting it, I got 100% in the game, but I don't want to ruin the fun by rushing trough it in no time.

Maybe they should give a prize for people who complete the game 100% AND spend a certain amount of time in a week or two (for example 50 hours in two weeks, this should allow you to finish the game 100% without rushing it).

I personally have no interest in rushing to beat the game (I've never actually gotten 100% on any GTA game, it's the hidden packages that get me!) but I agree that those who do manage it in such a short amount of time do deserve a little something. There is so much to do to get 100% in GTA that just an achievement seems too little really lol.

F*ck yeah, I also got one using my old PSN (which I forgot the password to). It's possibly one of my most favorite treasures as a gamer

I'd love to see them doing something different than a key this time, maybe a fake gun or something lol

NO mercie_blink.gif i never hammer the story off, always take my time pissing around in between missoins sometimes just random stuff like a good shootout or chase with the pigs side missions and extra content are always done with the story why waste the game?

Maybe but it doesn't bother me as I won't spoil the game by rushing through in the hope to get said reward. It's cool for those who want to do that though. I still haven't got the GTA IV Achievement for finishing the game in 30 hours because I didn't want to rush it. I might get that at some point. I did get 100% though without rushing.

Anyone who gets 100% should get a small prize from Social Club, like exclusive multiplayer skins or a "making of" video.

What REALLY bugs me is that the 100% rewards are always accessible via cheat codes. This makes the extensive amount of time needed to get 100% completely POINTLESS.

I'd totally try and do it for that key. I don't think I'd be able to however, and rushing the game would ruin the experience. You can never play the game for the first time again.

Oh cool. A key to a non existent place that probably won't sell for anything because it has no purpose. It's just a bit of metal with a Rockstar note. I could make both in 4 hours. A lot less time spent than buying the game and 100 percent-ing it within a week. Talk about not wanting your gamers to play the game for long...

I basically agree. Vice City's reward was attainable only by getting 100% though. That's the way it should be.

A key, for me at least, isn't worth ruining perhaps the best aspect of GTA games. That is being able to progress through the storyline at your own pace.

Gamers who buy a new game and play it like crack, non-stop until it's over, fascinate me. It took me 6 months to finish IV b/c I like to explore and the story was a bit long (which is good). Then online multiplayer distracted me for a few months and I didn't even play the story, but lots of folks on here don't GAF about playing online, right?

Key to the city? how about release date this month instead?

I like to take my time playing a game as well.

I don't think much of those gamers that buy a game on release full price and finish the game within the first few hours after buying it. Just to say they have already finished the game.

I'm going to take my time with this game to make it last as long as possible. It might even take me a year to complete the story.
