I think they're holding back info longer so it's less likely we see anything that will be removed.

 

For example, this is GTA IV screenshot #5:

Like, whoa, Niko is different, the rendering is different, this is nothing like what we got. Shouldn't have even shown that.

 

If they'd just waited a bit more, here's screenshot #30:

Still not final but a lot less crazy different than final.

 

We never saw anything as rough with games after GTA IV and I think they learned to wait a lot longer before showing stuff, and also with more experience in this generation the early versions probably don't look as far off from final.

I very much doubt anything we have seen so far in the trailer or the screens will be removed. We have seen very little of the game so this leads me to believe what we see is what we get.

 

Other features the game has we have yet to see. They could be removed if not working right but we wouldn't know they even existed so it's no big deal. Is GTA V even in the beta stage? If so how do we know this? That's right we don't. Also for the record there is nothing wrong with the screens.

I disagree that features shown in screenshots are beta features and beta features only. Remember how Rockstar said along the lines of this: 'The reason we haven't released any news is because we only want to give information that is 100% accurate'.

 

Think back to IV's beta screens with the infamous fingerless gloves and silencer on the 9MM. These were removed before game release and many fans cried foul. I think it's this kind of situation Rockstar want to avoid.

Tennis minigame.

 

The tennis minigame is something new to the series and has got everyone excited. But you may have noticed the slightly poor details in the picture than other pictures. So maybe rockstar are slightly unsure or there is some problem?

To be honest I don't think R* will include a tennis mini game within GTA V, I think it's purely there for decorational reasons.

Nearly all of you, including OP have got the meaning of Beta terribly wrong

The beta stage is a build of the game after the alpha stage and preceding the final release stage.

 

It's were most of the bugs have been ironed out in the alpha build and is ready to be tested by people to find and work out the remaining bugs and glitches.

 

The photo the OP showed looks like the game may still have been in an early Alpha build - big changes usually don't happen in the beta - mostly minor tweaks

Like others said here: I think R* tries to keep everything under control with GTA V. They've waited so long for information just to make sure they were ready to give it and 100% sure it represented things that are going to be in-game.

That's why I also think that this time, the release date won't be pushed forward when it is announced.

I've highlighted two phases in the above quote. They seem to be at pains to emphasise that they only want to disclose information to us about things that will actually be in the game. It suggests that all the screenshots they have released since that article (and anything else they tell us between now and release) are very likely to depict actual content that we can expect to see in the completed game.

Its not about the things that we see in the game, its the things that the forumers here make up and interpret that wont make it. Like for example the tennis screenshot.. there would probably be one but we wouldnt be able to play it. Its just there for a cutscene. The dogs in the trailer.. another cutscene probably. So they are STILL giving accurate info, just not what the die hard gta fans expected it.

Huh, minigun in GTA4 beta? The only weapons that were in beta (that I know) were the MP5, Spas12 and Python (you can even see the python revolver on a GTA4 screenshot).

I think R* were quite specific with these sceenshots. What has been shown so far will more than likely be in the game IMO.

You´re wrong about the minigun Miamivicecity, I´d respect you opinion because there wasn´t a BETA picture with the minigun, but the minigun was featured by Rockstar Games but was cancelled in IV, later on, they used to use the minigun in the Ballad of Gay Tony but in an another way, they put the minigun with the Buzzard. So finally, yes, there was a minigun in the game.

Ah yes. I have seen quite a lot of people making any number of assumptions. A few of them are using words like "fact" and "confirmed" when the subject in question is anything but.

 

For instance, they see the military jet and leap to the following conclusions:

1. That it will be called the "Hydra" which is likely, but it's not confirmed.
2. That it will be a VTOL aircraft. Once again, no actual evidence that it will be capable of vertical takeoff and landings.
3. That there is a military base or aircraft carrier. Which while probable, neither has actually been seen so far.

When the trailer was released it was the same thing about the map. A massive debate ensued about it being the whole of SA and the inclusion or exclusion of SF and LV.

 

There's the ongoing debate about which protag it will be. While I'd say the evidence presently seems to indicate that there may be more than one, it is still very unclear and certainly isn't anywhere close to confirmed as some people here have already assumed.

 

So there are quite a few that are trying to infer and deduce information from the limited evidence Rockstar have supplied and are drawing conclusions from inconclusive data. They then attempt to present said conclusions as fact.

The only thing I can remember in GTA IV being shown in beta screenshots but being removed from the final version of the game was the infamous fingerless gloves. I am 100% certain GTA V will have most if not all the things we've been shown in the trailer and screenshots.

I would say it looks quite likely but that screen seems to just show civillians playing tennis. Wouldn't be surprised if we can't play.

BETA is not the definition of features being removed from a game, you are severely mistaken.

 

Anyhow, school buses were removed for a pretty obvious reason, and Rockstar are past the stage where they decide what is being cut, the game is evidently having the polish added to it, anyone can take that from the screenshots we have been given.

Imo, a tennis minigame not gonna happen.

 

For me this screenshot is just an example of the living,organic world that Rockstar aims to create.

I mean, give sense of purpose to characters that live in it, a sense that the player is part of something larger.

There seems to be a more deliberate pace with Rockstar's release of information, so i highly doubt that we've been shown anything that isn't making the final cut. They have been too carefull about what they've released in terms of screenshots, and i'm thinking that they are only giving us the things that they KNOW are going to be in the game.

BETA dosen't mean removing it also means adding things for example salvatore's mansion in III and the lighthouse in Vice City which were pretty good.
