Creed Bratton
Ubisoft announced this morning that it's working on Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger, which will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC in 2013. Developed by Techland, Call of Juarez: The Gunslinger will return to the roots of the series putting players in the shoes of a bounty hunter who has his sights set on taking down the most notorious gunslingers, including the likes of Billy the Kid, Pat Garrett, Jesse James and more. The Concentration Mode returns with a twist – allowing gamers to unleash a flurry of bullets while dodging others. Along with their gun slinging abilities, gamers will hone their skills and acquire new abilities in a series-first skill system. http://www.strategyinformer.com/news/19749...linger-for-2013 There are two screenshots in that link. I am excited about this. I loved the first two games that were set in the Old West. I didn't bother with Cartel after seeing both the official and user reviews. So I'm glad they decided to return to the roots. Call of Juarez belongs in the Old West as far as I'm concerned.
BLlTZ
I was about to make a thread. I'm so glad they are back to Western. The last one for me (I don't even want to name it) doesn't exist. Here's the cover at least.
John The Grudge
I loved the first two games so this is a day one purchase for me. The old west is a brilliant setting. The screenshots look very nice.

Algonquin Assassin
I've only played BIB, but it was such an awesome game. Gave me an old west fix waiting for RDR. Will definately look at this.
Sunrise Driver
Oh great another digital game which looks like CoJ BiB clone. Ubisoft already did it with Nail'd 1.5 Mad Riders. Edited September 6, 2012 by Street Mix
John The Grudge
Oh great another digital game which looks like CoJ BiB clone. Ubisoft already did it with Nail'd 1.5 Mad Riders. The digital release bit does concern me a little. I enjoyed the plot of the first two games so a shorter, less plot orientated, game would be a bit of a disappointment. Particularly after The Cartel, which I skipped completely. I kind of expected them to come out with a great return to form. It might still be that. Creed Bratton
It concerns me as well a little bit. Isn't the download limit on Xbox 2gb? That would make this a very small game. You know what I don't understand? Ubisoft has the rights to both Far Cry and Call of Juarez and it never occurred to them to make a Call of Juarez game in a huge open world environment like Far Cry. It would be glorious. Just think of all the possibilities. Edited September 6, 2012 by GTAvanja

That's a total guess but I don't think that's too bad if I'm close. As a fan of the series I'll just have to accept that it didn't sell big enough numbers in the eyes of the money men to warrant a big enough budget for a full release. At least, like with American Nightmare, it shows that there's still a desire there to make Call Of Juarez games. Hopefully this will be a prelude to a proper sequel in the future. I know that the success of American Nightmare made Alan Wake 2 a certainty as far as gamers were concerned.
