A better way would just be to ask the player questions when they start a new game(whether they are new to GTA or shooting games or completely new to gaming and other stuff) so that the game can adjust the difficulty accordingly for the rest of the game.

Personally I feel GTA games to be too easy.

Been playing since mid 80s and man some games were hard. And there was no option to check from web how to pass a level. You just had to play for hours and figure it out.

It seems like a lot of modern games basically walk you through the level. haha

As long as the easy option only got 1/2 the content. Game ends at 50%

 

Game should be harder than GTA IV thats for sure.

I agree with the latter half of your post. GTA IV was not challenging by any stretch of the imagination. I think it would be a nice idea if they added different difficulty levels. But they probably won't, and I doubt anyone will care.

For certain games I don't care if there is a difficulty slider, for fifa games for example. That game wouldn't be enjoyable at all for people who just started to play on Legendary. I would only agree with a difficulty slider for V if it didn't allow you to obtain achievements unless you play on the normal GTA difficulty. Although, I still think it doesn't belong in GTA. I don't think you would have the GTA IV feeling if you could double your health. confused.gif It's really something unique about GTA.

Even on Legendary, Fifa's a doddle.

 

I think the bigger issue is AI and level design. "Wrong side of the tracks" for example, Big Smoke simply was unable to kill the damned Vagos at times.

 

And Fifa's AI at times simply doesnt offer a challenge, passing instead of shooting and shooting in bad times (and me getting a throw!) - People ask why V took four years - I think that's why, the AI will take time to get right, and look at EA games, pumped out every year, and they're halfassed because there is next to no dev time.

 

I don't think we'll see a traditional "difficulty" option, but controller tweaks like in RDR, and perhaps dynamic difficulty - the game will increase AI difficulty and lower it if you're struggling

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

Dude no, please no difficulty settings for GTA.

I like the sequential difficulty as it is. People say GTA IV was easy, but how many of you used cover in shootouts? To get an idea how hard the game can be do some higher level vigilante missions and use the out in the open method from the GTA III era. Trust me you'll get ripped to shreds.

 

The only thing I think R* need to do is improve enemy A.I. In MP3 you can't stay in cover forever. Enemies flank quite fast.

There shouldn't be any difficulty levels at all. The game should be the same level for everyone and that level should be challenging at least, although they should bring back checkpoints from BOGT, simply because it's boring having to retread lengthy missions and hospital bills are annoying.
