  1. 1. Should GTA V Have An Easy Difficulty Level

    • No, games should be challenging and not a hand-out

    • Yes, I dont want to play the same mission multiple times

    • As long as it is only an option and doesnt hinder the hardcore gamers experience

    • I really dont care how hard the game is... Its GT frikkin-A

Games like GTA should never have a Difficulty level option simply because of their target audience, 18and above,

Difficulty leevels are for kids and should exist only in kids games like;

Crash Bandicoot

Ratchet and Clank

Fifa 13

Pro Evolution Soccer

These games are for all ages and kids just want to win all the time, hard core gamers who play games like;

GTA

Max Payne

Cod

Their players don't want/care for difficulty levels because they want to prove they are the best so they pick hardest mode possible whether it be ''Very Hard'' or ''Veteran'' or the game like GTA has no set difficulty level.

so the answer to the question, NO GTA should not now or EVER put in a difficulty option.

Why you didn't include CoD in the games for kids section? The majority of the players in CoD are little kids.

COD is for kids who can hack it in Counter-Strike lol, but lets stay on topic...

I think that games should be tough, its what compels us to keep playing them. But some people are not that good at video games but love them just the same.

Its a slippery slope

I really don't want any type of difficulty levels in this game. That will be even worse than cheats.

I see your point there. GTA is already the perfect difficulty. In order for it have easy, it would have to have hard and I'm a person that likes to play my games on the hardest difficulty to see what the AI can throw at me.

GTA is the one game you don't have to worry about a difficulty option.

I personally hate difficulty settings. I like playing the game the way it was meant to be played.

Although honestly, if I get pissed enough I will lower it a little.

But I've never gotten that pissed off while playing a GTA game.

I don't see why not.

My ex couldn't play video games to save his life, but he still played them them because he knew I liked them.

Nobody would force you to play on easy, so why should you force them to play it your way.

I don't know how this topic keeps coming up. GTA has difficulty levels built in. Fail a mission and when you play it again, the game makes it easier the next time. If you do a save and restart method, you would never even know about it though.

Really? I never noticed, are you sure it's not just you trying different stratagies next time round and remembering things?

Anyway, I think it should stay the same, they are gennererally so big that progressivly harder missions and easy side missions fit the system.

They could give an inbetween option - Classic health or regen health - missions like Black project from San An and the Bank Job from Vice and IV (the one from the movie 'heat') would be a hell of a lot easier on a regen health system. I would stick with classic personally, but I wouldn't hold it against others to use a regen system.

You know I thought I heard that somewhere. Do you happen to have a link where that was stated by R*...

GTA already has an easy mode, called "not doing a mission". Was also one of the first games to have this as well. If a mission is driving you nuts, go and goof around for a while and try again later. Worked for me countless times when I was six years old playing GTA 3. Finished the storyline that age too and have still never felt more accomplished in my life.

I'm in the group that saves before every mission and reloads on fail because I want my stats to say 0 fail. So no, this couldn't be just me figuring out better strategies.

I'm not sure where exactly I found it out, but it was quite a while back, so the source may be gone by now. I'll dig around the net to see if I can find it again though.

However, in Max Payne 3, I didn't do the pristine stats thing, and you could tell every time you died, you would come back with more ammo than you had or more health, or sometimes an extra painkiller. And that's in a R* game that has difficulty levels already.

GTA has always been exceptionally well balanced, and I fully expect this to continue in the SP of GTA V.

When a game has selectable difficuty I always choose the middle one, as I like to play the game the way the devs would want the majority to play it in order to get the best experience possible.

I didn't like MP3's extra painkillers just when you died a few times. It ruined the sense of achievement.

No - I'm sick of all the easy games in today's world.

Back in the days of the PS1, sh*t was hard! I remember playing Driver 2 and having to replay some of the missions 50+ times because they were ridiculously hard. If you're a casual gamer, don't buy hardcore games...

I now what you feel the mission with the train was very difficult for a second mission.

Driver 1 had the hardest first mission ever if you played you now what i mean.

Ontopic: GTA should be hard with no easy option i hate difficulty settings in games like GTA.

I wouldn't mind it, but I wouldn't use it.

Someone I agree with! YAY!

@Everyone: Stop being internet Nazis [ I keed ] and let everyone play as they like to. Do want to play your normal GTA? Pick normal mode. It does not take a second to choose normal mode when the game starts FFS. Why do you hate difficulty settings, people? Give some logical reasons not "It did not have it before and should not have it now!" well guess what, smartass?

GTA never had a multiplayer mode, too. Guess what happened in IV? Some did not play it and others did. Everyone got along just fine and everyone played what THEY wanted to play. Not everything is about you.

I want to play on hard not easy stuff like GTA IV and RDR.

EDIT: I also hate the idea of just adding Easy mode confused.gif. We need Easy, Normal and Hard mode.

the option should be there like LA Noire - if you enable it, you can skip that specific sequence.

I can't stand people who say it should be there for "special needs" people.

IV was challenging on playthrough 1, but it's easy after that. The level of difficulty is good - remember it's a game , and games are entertaining. Entertainment is not throwing your controller against the wall because the game's made it needlessly hard. It should be fun, and slightly challenging.

But for those who are not good at the games, who enjoy them but simply suck, then i think the devs should cater for them. Things like auto aim, and heldback AI would help, perhaps more health.

Remember just because we're good at these games, doesnt mean that everyone is, and saying that someone's "special needs" because they're not as good as you in a game is downright dispicable.

TL;DR: Yea, it should be an option, in a menu, toggleable, for those of lesser skill

P.S. you shouldnt be able to just turn it on and off at will though i think. You'd only have the option at new game for easy , normal or "hardcore" mode.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

@Mokrie: I think your mistaken. We literally mean people with special needs. Not just the kid who eats glue in home ec class. But for people with down syndrome or asberghers(however u spell it) they should have the opportunity to enjoy the games as well. That's not dispicable

For certain games I don't care if there is a difficulty slider, for fifa games for example. That game wouldn't be enjoyable at all for people who just started to play on Legendary. I would only agree with a difficulty slider for V if it didn't allow you to obtain achievements unless you play on the normal GTA difficulty. Although, I still think it doesn't belong in GTA. I don't think you would have the GTA IV feeling if you could double your health. confused.gif It's really something unique about GTA.

GTAV should be difficult. Really difficult. Not impossible, but make you really work hard to get the job done. Should be sweating after each mission.

At the very, very least, make it an option. At most, don't even include it. This isn't Saints Row.

I would have liked an easy setting for that sad.gif

Absolutely not. I think IV was too damn easy, I think I died on 3 or so missions. I want to have that frustration when you get nowhere and suddenly on your third attempt you get everything right and you get that awesome feeling of accomplishment. A health-regain system would be rubbish, it adds to the realism and adrenaline when you just have one small part of life left and you are about to take on a gang of thugs.

I Voted no, but not for the same reasons.

If there is an Easy option, there will also be a Hard option.

In GTA, I like to play on whatever difficulty the developer has set. Plus, its an open world game, it's better with a difficulty setting at all.

Just my opinion.

So. No, GTA has never had difficulty settings and never should.
