Its not coming out until November for sure!

I just thought of something. Why would GTA IV have an event on November 29th, only for PC?

Could it possibly be that GTA V would have been released less than a month before the event, on consoles, and the PC version hasn't been released yet?

I thought of that too but was too timid to mention it. But hell, I'll grasp any straw I'm given.

All those who thought GTA V was gonna show up in October. Its not going to since Rockstar has announced the Fall Calendar of Social Club events and there is no GTA V till November 29th.

http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/arti...s-calendar.html

With this we can also be almost sure that the game won't come before 2013!

As much as I agree that GTA V won't be out this year this doesn't prove anything.

R* are not going to list GTA V as it's not out yet. Also nothing stops R* running two events side by side each other or whenever they please. Still whatever works for you. dontgetit.gif

March 2013...too early? That are 16 months after the first trailer so it's not really to early. May 2013 if a delay would happen.

I understand this is your opinion and I respect that but why post it in every topic? Shoving it down people throats won't make your opinion right or wrong. Just for the record also no matter what you or others think GTA V doesn't have a release date yet so can't be delayed. What goes on inside R* is another matter and we are only second guessing that so it's not fact. Until R* go public with things (internal delay or not) then that won't change. I very much doubt R* will delay GTA V this time around and this possibly is the reason there been so illusive. Well more so than normal. tounge2.gif

I think we should make bets. I say if GTA V won't be released this fiscal year then TakeTwo will decrease their expectations. You'll bet against me, okay? Do we have a bet? wink.gif

R* doesn't seem to like rushing their marketing so with end of the year coming very close I don't see them releasing GTA V this year. I bet they will like to have a good 6 month marketing campaign before release. We will probably get the second trailer in November and the game next year. I would have loved to play GTA V this year but with this release of the Social Club calendar I don't see it happening. So sad...

To people saying they can't release a game in the remaining 4 months of 2012: This generation is all about viral marketing.

When GTA screenshots/info is released, it's trending on Twitter, lots of videos are uploaded on Youtube, and Facebook is ablaze. Just for a screenshot. Now imagine a release date wow.gif

As long as R* announces the release date this month, and gives people 2-3 months for pre-orders, it can be released in 2012.

Right now, it's 50/50

Oh, and this calendar is evidence to nothing. Do you really think they'd announce a GTA 5 window in a calendar, instead of saying it themselves?

Haha, no.

Not 50/50.

If you think logically for one second, not with your heart but your brain, you know that GTA V isn't going to be released this year. If it was it could be the death of Rockstar; games like Call of Duty: Black Ops II have way more attention despite being announced later.

Dude, you have no idea how big R* is, do you? You really think R* would get killed releasing in the holiday season? So I guess Halo would get killed too. And every other game that's releasing would get killed too, since it's not as big as CoD. Oh wait, they won't? That's what I thought too!

Now who's the one not using their brain?

You, clearly.

Let us think logically.

Halo 4 isn't going to get 'killed' by releasing this holiday season. It has had the hype and the necessary time in the spotlight. Halo 4 isn't made with the idea of outselling GTA V or COD: BO II, it is made to sell Xbox 360 systems. This is very similar to Playstation exclusives.

This holiday is dominated by stellar games, some of which have had years of hype behind them. COD: BO II, AC III, Resident Evil 6, Far Cry 3. These are just SOME of the games coming out this holiday. Games that people have pre-ordered and decided to purchase, even at this early stage. There is even a new console coming out.

GTA V needs to be a hit for Rockstar. Max Payne 3's sales are resoundingly underwhelming, and Rockstar must now realise that they need GTA V to succeed. They are not invincible, as you seem to imply. They need all the marketing help they can get. Advertisements at big events, such as sporting ones (like Call of Duty), for instance. GTA IV is one of the most expensive video games ever created, and GTA V will surely top that. Expensive games require a big audience, otherwise they will fail.

So, I'm going to ask you to use your brain.

a) Would Rockstar risk underwhelming sales of their biggest franchise by putting it next to series' like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and Resident Evil (all of which, so far, have had superior marketing campaigns)?

or

b) Would Rockstar wait until March/May to release the title, within its own space, well away from the holiday season? This would move GTA V away from gaming highlights like a new console launch and into its own bubble. Shortly after May we can expect announcements on the 'true' next-gen consoles, and by this time GTA V would be one of the last big current console generation titles.

It would be great if GTA V came out this year, but there is so much information that contradicts that. It is likely that we will see a second GTA V trailer in the coming months, coupled with a May release date. That way GTA V can steal some spotlight from other titles (just like last year) without risking loosing sales.

R* haven't marketed any game this generation for less than 5-6 months.

6 months from now would be around march. In a week or so when we get more gta v assets the marketing should be more consistant and leading up to a spring/summer release 2013.

I realise a lot of people want the game to come out this year but I can't imagine R* ever rushing to get a game out. To market their biggest most anticipated game for just 3 or 4 months doesn't seem at all likely.

And just because Cod and other superior games will come out this fall, that doesnt mean GTAV wont. If it would be true, then Cod wouldnt release either coz of another game.

It does need to be a hit. A big hit. It could sell millions and still be a failure for Rockstar.

I am sure that GTA V will be an amazing game. I am sure that it will sell more than GTA IV (based on the sheer fact that more people own the platforms now). But will it top Call of Duty's records? GTA, in the past, has justified its expenses. But now, with games like Call of Duty costing less to make and potentially earning more, GTA needs to justify its cost again.

The period in which they launch GTA V will make all the difference. Launching next to Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, Halo and Far Cry could affect the costs significantly. Similarly, launching in March next to Crysis, God of War, Gears of War and Bioshock is a much better prospect. Finally, launching in May next to nothing of worth is the best option for Rockstar and Take-Two.

I'm just saying, it's obvious. It's nice to think to GTA V could come in any month and decimate its competition, but it might not work like that any more. There are many who still feel burnt by GTA IV (amazingly, even though I thought it was a great game) and there are more and more sandbox alternatives. GTA V still needs to prove, to many, that it is a game worth buying. It cannot do this within two months which are saturated with other AAA games.

I don't think Rockstar would be dumb enough to tell us when the V social events are. Wouldn't that be a big giant neon sign saying "THIS IS THE RELEASE DATE"?

A 2012 release is/always was highly implausible, I would assume no earlier than March 2013, but to actually hold out hope for an October 2012 release is, well, blatantly naive. I'd love a 2012 release, but let's be realistic.

I assume OP wanted Rockstar to put a GTA V event in the calender, like right in our f*cking faces and reveal the timeframe of the game's release. That'd be a strategically intelligent thing to do, innit :3 ?

In conclusion, this proves jack.

Weren't you one of the fools who believed in 2405?

Lol, good times, moron.

Anyways, Dec. 2012 isn't completely out the winder yet, so there's still hope. But I think Oct. 2012 is becoming more and more likely as we move forward in time. I hope not, though

You mean October 2013, right? Won't happen. It'll be sooner. I even guarantee it. tounge.gif Rockstar had never released a trailer nearly 2 years before the release of a game.

Says the gay who said Rockstar doesn't follow patterns.

Yeah, of all games, GTA shouldn't be afraid of any competition. GTA is a mega franchise, I doubt anyone has to worry about it selling poorly, no matter when it releases.

How is that proof it's not coming out in 2012?

Why the hell would they do a gta iv event when gtav is out.

Because they can. Because they don't want old games to die. GTA IV was a great game and they still want to have fun on it. Rockstar can do what ever they want. They could release it tomorrow if they wanted too.
